Today was just another Friday… in some other normal world, anyway…
We ate at our second favorite Chinese restaurant tonight. For some reason, Elijah freaks out whenever we go there and refuses to eat and crabs and whines the whole time. I don’t know what his problem is.
While we were eating, an old man and his wife came in. He was haunched over and had a cane. He started barking! He was barking at Elijah, who, of course, had his back to him. He was not paying any attention. Steve and I were trying to smile. It was kind of funny, but moreso when Elijah noticed the man. He turned around and looked at him for a second, then laughed and smiled and growled back… long and low.
A surprising number of you all out there in the blogosphere have been MSN-ing or emailing me asking me what’s up in this area. So here goes… ;-)
 I do think I am getting through though as she’s starting to back away for now. Well, actually it seems as if she’s moving on. She’s emailed Vix twice now.
So, being at the house of the woman I’m “working” for got me thinking of about a year and a couple of months ago. This woman’s husband ran for a political office last year and I did a website for him. They had us come one night to talk about what should go on it and get me some materials and such.
There was another guy there who was helping with something else, and because he “knows everything” he decided to hang around and look over my shoulder. At one point he was asking me how much bandwidth I had, since I’d be hosting the site on my reseller. The conversation went something like this:
Oh my gosh, I just downloaded into my email over 1900 messages. Spam from my HW contact form!!
And I’m looking at this and wondering… have they used my contact form to spam other people? This is the first email I have:
Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary=”===============0859217314==”
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=”us-ascii”
Sender IP Address: 18.104.22.168
Now you see those “checked” fields? Those are those checkboxes. They’re supposed to either be blank or say “yes” or something… certainly not have an email address in them.
And you know – I haven’t gotten any spam at that contact form until now. Then suddenly I download 1900 messages?!?!?!?
Other messages looked like this:
Sender IP Address: 22.214.171.124
It appears that all emails are from 126.96.36.199. I blocked that from my site and renamed the email form files…
Owen says I shouldn’t have sent out any spam but that I should add a feature that only allows so many emails in so many minutes. So I need to figure that out…
This is just a rant about some people I used to know.
These people have let their 17-year-old son join the Army. This is a kid who they’ve always yelled at in public and acted like he was just such a bother to them. At 14, they were yelling at him one day, “…did you put your tights on yet!? Go get them on!” He was in a singing group that wore traditional French and German dress, he did not want to be there, let alone wear the tights at 14, yet they not only forced him, but yelled at him about it in front of everyone. They are so impatient with him and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out they pushed the Army idea to get rid of him, especially since a 17-year-old has to be signed for by a guardian. (Note that he is not actually related to them by blood and he found this out when he was 14, of course, the “mother” had to start talking about it to me, really loud – as is her style – in front of everyone including him. If you could have seen that kid’s face… it was horrible…)
