grrr

grrr - I am trying to place an order with this bookstore and I have a thingy here for money off and it keeps telling me the number on it is invalid. Grrrrrrrr

Went to the high school football state championship game today - Ste. Gen was playing - they lost 35 to 0 (at least, we left with like 4 minutes left) - so that sucked. But it was fun I guess.

So anyway that was today.

Yesterday I just stayed home and we didn’t go out in the evening because Steve went to help Jon clean his deer, etc.

Thanksgiving…

Hope you all had a good one!
In honor of the holiday, I would like to well, give Thanksgiving…

First and foremost, I am thankful for Jesus my Savior. I thank Him for giving me salvation and life and life abundantly.
Secondly I am thankful for Steve and Elijah, I cannot list them one before the other as they are equally special to me.
I am also thankful for all the people in my life, including but not limited to: both of our immediate families, grandparents, great-grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and our special friends, you know who you are.
I am thankful for those that have passed on, that I had the opportunity to know before they died, Grandma D, Grandpa J, C…
Yes, I am also thankful for Rimshot as he brings even more joy to my life.
I am thankful for the roof over my head, be it small and unfinished and usually messy…
I am thankful for the vehicles that get us to where we need to go.
I am thankful for the food that I have to eat every day and the water I have to drink.
I am thankful for the beauty of the earth and the animals and the heavens.
The list goes on and on and if I continued, I would never stop.

Thank you God for all that I have mentioned and the things I have in my mind and the things that I do not even know I am supposed to be thankful for or that I have. Thank you for loving me and keeping me, yes, even a sinner like me.

here is a really cool site: mrpicassohead.com - I just stumbled on it.

Anyway…. uh tonight we went to the Thanksgiving service at church. Not sure why they were calling it that though, it was just like any other Wednesday except there were no classes and stuff, just church.

Tomorrow we are going to Steve’s grandma’s and then to my aunt’s. We were just going to go to his grandma’s but now we are going to add my aunt’s too - I miss all them guys and I think Steve wants to talk to my uncles. They seem to have a lot of common interests… guns, hunting, kshe, football, etc.

Elijah is laid down now but he only went down at 10:30, so I have a feeling that he might not stay there long but get back up and need to be fed one more time. We are just staying up way too late, it’s starting to get to me, I think I need some more sleep. But there are some things I have to wait to do until he’s asleep or they don’t get done.

I’m gonna have to get Erin - or well, I would have if I hadn’t been online at the right time. She sent me four HUGE picture files and took my email box from like 12% to 110% - suddenly Yahoo was yelling at me lol. So if you guys got large attachments to send, send them to my holifieldweb.net addy - I have that one set up to receive up to 50 megs, instead of just 6. But also note that all of you with holifieldweb.net addresses do not have 50, just me, heehee. :-) You guys have anywhere from 4 to 10, I don’t remember. Prolly depends on who ya are.

Anyway….
um….
I made dirt cake today. Made two: one to take tomorrow and one for us to leave here. I knew that if I took it somewhere neither Steve or I would get any, so I went ahead and made two. But it’s more like 1 1/2 and a 1/2 lol. (If that makes any sense).

Oohhh, people on ebay make me mad. So I was bidding on this bird’s eye view of Ste. Genevieve (old postcard) - this was the 2nd one - and I had been winning it all week for $7.75. Now, normally I wouldn’t spend that much on a stinkin postcard, but I really really wanted this one. 45 minutes before the auction is over, someone raised the bid to $15.00. I went in there at 15 min before and was like no way am I paying that much. I was so ticked I raised their bid - not much but enough that I knew I would not win the auction but would raise the price. I know, not very nice. But it apparently doesn’t matter to this guy, according to his feedback, he’s bought several postcards at the range of $15-20, just from the few I looked at. I also got outbid on the Veggie Tales Jonah DVD, but that’s okay. Now I am just bidding on the Ste. Genevieve piggy bank from the 50’s - it ends tomorrow morning around 8 I believe. My luck someone will grab that, too, as I’ve been winning all week. Grrr…

“Can you say Hemi?” I hate that commercial, grrrr….

uuuummm…..
I guess I will go to bed now :-D

Yes, Jared, I LOVE Spongebob

Yes, Jared, I LOVE Spongebob - what’s wrong with that? ;-)
Don’t ask my why, I just do. And yes, everyone thinks I’m crazy - except for Sarah who loves SB almost as much as I do. Last Christmas, Elizabeth and Kris both got me SB toys (lol) and Gina got me a SB watch. :-) Certainly shows they care!

Anyway, today I did not have a good day.

yawn

Well, it’s Sunday night… or actually early Monday morning….
I’m tired again, but I figure I’d better write, or I’ll fall in a rut and the next thing I know it will be 2004 with no new entries. :-)

Been working on the church website tonight… I can’t get my email box to work right - according to what I see, everything is set up for it correctly, but it won’t receive any mail so far. I am wondering if it’s just me or if no one is getting any mail. So I emailed support a few minutes ago. I’m sure that their host is a pretty good one, but they are not getting their money’s worth at all and there are so many other options to be had out there…

Let’s see… Friday… usual stuff…. I got a new coat - finally. I ripped my suede one last year somehow, think I got it caught on something, and I’ve needed one ever since. That’s the 2nd suede one I’ve ripped, arggg. So I didn’t get suede. I got a down-filled one, surprisingly was the cheapest one they had at the time, too, lol. It’s powder blue though, don’t know if I like that, cause it’s not typically “me” - I wanted black, but they only had one left, not in my size - but I guess it will grow on me. It has 5 pockets, 2 out, 3 in (one is cell-phone shaped) and a huge hood. Boy is it warm.

Saturday… actually got to stay home for a change - all day - lol. It was nice, or would have been, if Elijah hadn’t screamed literally all day. All he wanted was to eat, scream, or sleep in my lap, anytime I laid him down, he screamed again. Went on all day. Kinda what Sunday’s been like too…

so tired

So tired - can’t get the SSI or the PHP or the HTM or whatever the heck I’m talking about to work. Forgot what I wanted to write in here. Going to bed. *sigh*

Shawing!

So, like, there are two reasons that I haven’t written lately besides being busy, of course:
1. I have been working on my website.
2. Our phone line was messed up for about two days.

1……
Yes, I have been working with that new layout, trying to make the whole website state-of-the-art (yeah right, like that will ever happen lol). But I am totally elated, because I just put in this new form thing and it works - and not only does it work, but it’s green!! :-) I am slowly beginning to figure out some of this php stuff.
Now I need to figure out how to make my own layout for this thing to make it match and fit where I want it to. Hmmmm….

2……
Yes, our phone line was messed up all of yesterday and most of the day before. It was the weirdest thing because when you would talk to someone it would crackle really loud and when I tried to connect to the internet, the crackling was so loud, the modem couldn’t find the dial tone. Yes, I still have to use dialup. That’s what happens when you’re poor and in the middle of nowhere. :-D
Anyway, I called the phone company from our cell phone and they told me to unhook all phones in the house and then find the phone box and hook up a corded phone there to see if it was still doing it. I finally found the box in the basement. No, it is not outside. And it was still crackling in there, so that meant it was their problem and I called back and they were supposed to send out a technician either today or tomorrow between the hours of 9 and 4. *roll eyes here* But late this morning, I tried it in the phone box and it was working fine and obviously, I can get on the internet now. I wonder if they fixed it already or if it just fixed itself? (Maybe the problem was due to the weather we’ve been having.) Oh well, I guess if they show up to fix it, that will answer my question.

But even with all that, I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since I wrote!

What else has happened???

Saturday I went downtown again with Carrie. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe - it was pretty cool, even if we did have a psycho waiter. We both bought the huricanne glasses - I think they’re pretty cool, but when we showed it to my mom, I don’t think she was too impressed. :-) Kinda looks like a vase though. And I saw this sweatshirt in the shop I would love to have. However, I don’t know if I’m up to spending $30 on it (plus shipping since I’d prolly order it from the website) - maybe I’ll ask for it for Christmas. :-) There were a lot of other cool things in there, too.
So from there, we went into Union Station and walked around a bit. We were in our first store when Steve called on the cell and said that he had gotten a deer and was headed back. So he went by his grandma’s and strung it up, or whatever they do, and then came home. He spent the night home and then headed back in the morning to get all his stuff, etc. What did I tell you? I knew he would not be able to fit all his crap and a deer and himself in that truck.
In the meantime, Elijah and I went to church… I went in the control room again - this time I gave Sheila the beeper (yes, the nursery gives you beepers now in case they need you. Saves them having to come search for you in the service) so that she could go incase it went off and I was not able to go. It didn’t go off, of course, but if it had, I wouldn’t have been able to go real easily. Turned out, the guy who usually does the directing was gone - the guy that does the assisting and the editing was there. However, he also plays organ, so we the praise band played instead (usually he plays then during the sermon comes and does his thing, then heads back down, then back up after service). So anyway, he turned to me after the music as the preaching had been going on a few minutes and says, “You want to do this?” hehe, after last time I was still pretty nervous, but after a minute I did it - and I did it the rest of the service! Once I got going, I was not quite as nervous, and this time I did not hit a non-existent camera!! (Yay) So it was totally cool though!!
Then after church, I went out to Mom’s so I didn’t have to drive all the way home and then back up, 30+ miles to my house from church, about 12 to my mom’s. Plus, it kept me from having the excuse of “naw, I’m tired, I won’t go tonight [to church]” and I ‘had’ to go because it was on my way home. :-) Ah yes, one smart cookie, ehehehehe.
Uh…. Monday…. hmmm… I don’t remember, lol.
Tuesday…. um…. just messing with the phone I guess… I missed Charmed bleh.
Wednesday… tonight I missed church because it is Steve’s grandma’s birthday. So we went over there for a while and we brought her an ice cream cake and her framed pic of Elijah, for her wall of grandchildren, as I call it. Yes, all 27 (28?) grandchildren and 2 and counting great-grandchildren.

Anyway, gonna go now, trying to figure out if I want to risk making my index file on the webpage a php or not. If I do, I can go ahead and incorporate the poll and the feedback form without having to put them in frames. But then I won’t be able to use a WYSIWYG editor (FP in my case) at all and that is a big step for me. But then again, I really need to learn it the “right way.” I know some, but not enough….

Alone… well, almost…

Yes, alone, but not completely. Tonight is Steve’s first night away, ever. He’s gone deer hunting with the rest of the guys down at my Grandpa’s. He will be gone tonight and probably tomorrow night, too. Unless he gets a deer early though, then he may come home and set it up for cleaning & etc at his Grandma’s. What I’m wondering though is where he will have room for a deer in his truck, seemed like it was full of things.
So today I packed all of Steve’s clothes and I was supposed to go to the store for him - there was all this food he wanted, etc. But I didn’t get there until he got home thanks to crabby baby today. So I went then and when I got back, he left.
Then tonight Erin came down for a little bit. She wasn’t able to stay long, because her roomate/cousin locked herself out of their apartment. But she came down and we drove out to my in-law’s and left Elijah with Sheila. Then we headed out to Farmington and went to Spokes. Spokes is pretty cool - I had the chicken strips again - it comes with two side dishes and a salad. We also had an appetizer. So needless to say, I was nowhere near eating all that. I brought home 4 of the 5 strips! I’ll prolly eat some in a minute though. :-) But after we ate, we basically came straight back and got Elijah and came back to my house where she got her car. I gave Sheila $15 for watching Elijah, which isn’t bad for only 2 hours, but it sucks considering she’s watched him for free at least two other times. I wish I could give her more! But she says don’t give her anything, but I don’t like to do that all the time - she helps me out so much.
Tomorrow, I will be going to my mom’s and leaving Elijah with them. I sound like a wonderful mother, don’t I? I mean, leaving my kid everywhere with everyone! :-) I’m really not that bad, I don’t do this too often. It’s just this weekend is crazy for me, and since Steve’s not home, he’s not watching him. Plus everyone always wants to watch him anyway. So I will be going downtown with Carrie again - this time we are going to go to the Hard Rock Cafe and Union Station (since HRC is in US, I suspect we’ll end up there anyway). It’s really funny - I mean, I’ve been to HRC in Memphis and Indianapolis, but never in St. Louis - and I’ve lived in this area all my life. I wanna get a HRC tee-shirt, but I don’t know if I will or not. Maybe I’ll just wait until I can get one that proves I’ve actually been out of Missouri, hehehehe.
Sunday, I had thought about asking mom to pick up Elijah from his nursery class after services, so that I could stay and watch them edit the sermon for tv. But now that I think about it, I don’t think that’s a good idea this week. Maybe a week when I haven’t been having Elijah being babysat so much. I don’t like to get big-headed, but I know he misses me, and so he cries. So I really don’t want to be away from him too much. Plus, by that time, I will have been going pretty much non-stop since Wednesday, I’ll probably be beat.

Well, last night was the concert with the youth group. It was Relient K (headliner) and three other guy bands that I’d never heard of before. I thought the first one was okay, the second one sucked and played way too long, and the third one was okay. Relient K was definitly the best. But I want to know one thing - what is it with these shirtless drummers? I mean, 3 out of 4, c’mon! That’s so not cool. But they all sounded alike - well, I mean the first three bands. At least Relient K has origionality - prolly why I liked them best. But the first three were almost like MXPX rip-offs and wanna-bes. Oh well lol. I still had fun with the kids. I ended up sitting back with the other two adults the whole time though (Paul, youth leader & Jason, drove us up) so the kids probably don’t think I’m cool anymore lol. But at first, I was needing to sit after standing outside in the cold for 45 minutes + before we could get in. Then I started getting sick again (it has been happening to me a lot lately, I wonder if I have some low blood sugar issue or something, I’ve been getting sick when I get pretty hungry, and last night it was the worst) like I had at 5. So at 5pm we’d gotten some McD’s before we left for the concert. At 7, I was feeling it again, but I ignored it. At 9, I couldn’t stand it anymore and by 9:30 I had gotten some food from the cafeteria-like foodplace in there (it was really wierd though, because this place was like, a club or something). It sucked. I had to pay $6 for a plate of food - main course, two side dishes - that wasn’t really good or fresh, and $2 for a stinkin’ bottle of water! Arg. I so wanted to wait until after the concert, but at this time we were only half done, and I just couldn’t take it anymore. So I ate most of the food, but after a while, I had to stop ’cause it was just kinda gross. We left the concert at 11, and I was feeling it again!!! We stopped at a gas station to drop one kid off and we all went inside - I got a donut and a Mountain Dew and that was nice. (I’ve started drinking Mountain Dew occasionally again, up until this month, I had not had any since April when we were in Hannibal because of the horrible heartburn it gave me during pregnancy.) So then I got home around 1am and Steve was sleeping on the couch. He musta slept good though, cause he woke up and did not go right to bed for a while. Instead, he kept me up - making me write a list for today of the stuff he wanted. Finally, I said I am going to bed and it was about 1:30. By 1:40 or 1:45 - Elijah was up. Steve said he went to bed sometime between 8 and 9 - which is early for him. So I fed him and was trying to get him to go to sleep and he just kept smiling at me! It was so cute and everything, but I was getting frustrated because I was so tired. Finally, he started to get crabby and conked out around 3:30. Of course, then he made me get up and get him around 7:15. Then we finally got up for good about 8:45. So I am stupidly sitting here past midnight when I was so tired this morning. Oh well…

Oh yeah - so yesterday before the concert, I met with Pam at the church to talk about the website. Looks like I am now a co-webmaster. Well, she kinda acts like she wants it off her shoulders totally, and I don’t mind doing it, you all know I love it, lol. I don’t want her to think I’m trying to take her job though, but like I said, it seems like she’s tired of it. I know she has a ton of other things to do, being head/pastor’s secretary and all. So today during the times when Elijah was being fed, I worked on it a little bit. Haven’t published anything yet though. I’m coming up with tons of ideas though, it’s totally cool. But the host they are using now, it’s all good and stuff, but they’re being ripped off. It translates to 15megs for $16.66 a month, they pay yearly. And the domain is costing them $15 a year. So I told her where I am, at CP and their contract is up in January - so we will probably be moving them somewhere at least. But they’re going to need a lot more space, if we get to do some of the things we have in mind. Pl has ideas for lotsa stuff for the youth…. Plus, I don’t think their host now supports PHP, and I wanna use it! :-)

Well anyways - gotta go and do something productive, either that or go to bed. But I at least have to go up there and change the channel - I hate Elimidate. Arg.
