webcam

I bought a webcam tonight. :-)
Well, actually, it’s supposed to be one of those thingies that does webcam, digital cam, and video cam. It does real well as a webcam, but I don’t know about the digital cam or video cam yet. Well, I guess video does fine when hooked up to the computer. But the digital seems like it has to have a lot of light to work and it’s not turning up good ones inside my house tonight. I’ll have to try it outside tomorrow during the day. But oh well, it is just a cheap little thing anyway.
Other than that, I guess it’s been a pretty normal Jan 1st.
Last night, Steve’s parents and sisters came over (Jon was here for about an hour) and mostly us girls played poker (then Steve joined us) and we all watched the Three Stooges. It was a 12 hour marathon, so I had to tape it. :-) It was fun though. Sheila ate all the crab ragoon dip I made. ;-)
Then today we just slept in and bummed around and then Steve went to cut wood and Elijah and I hung out. When Steve got home we went to Walmart with the purpose of buying Elijah some toys with his Christmas money from Grandma F. We also had a giftcard from my aunt and uncle so we picked a couple of things out, including the camera.

    Ingredients:
1 package Won Ton Squares (I found then at Walmart in the vegetarian section of produce)
1 jar sweet n sour sauce (optional)
3 to 4 Tablespoons butter, melted Grated parmesan cheese
1 package cream cheese (abt 8 ounces)
    2 Tablespoons milk
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 Tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
6 ounces crab meat (or imitation krab meat), more or less to taste

    Directions:
    Dip:
Microwave cream cheese 1 to 2 minutes.
Stir in milk and garlic powder.
    Add crab and parsley.
Heat another 2 to 3 minutes.
Put in a shallow dish, along with a separate dish of sweet n sour sauce.

Wonton Squares: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brush a cookie sheet with melted butter. Cut wonton squares in half (or fourths depending on size, the ones I found had to be cut in fourths) and lay on buttered cookie sheet. Brush wontons with more butter. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake 5 to 7 minutes. Cook on paper towels. Repeat, etc. Serve with dip and sauce.

(Sometimes the wontons may be crunchier than you would like, you might substitute some crackers instead. We ate the left-over dip with crackers and it was pretty good like that.)
