So cool
Who knew this would be so cool to be able to watch Freaky Friday on my computer while I do some web design? Lol It is just too bad that my webcapture program thingy also can’t capture frames, just like the print screen button - it just turns out black. Oh well.
Today’s been a pretty normal day. Just housework, web design, baby care, dog care, etc. :D
I liked Freaky Friday though. M left it here Saturday when she left (it’s my mom’s or G’s or something) because we were still watching it. Cute movie - no questionable content that I can remember - a pretty good message or two - entertaining.
Oh speaking of that, I don’t think I’ve talked about my life during the time I was gone. Well, since it is ancient history already by blog standards, I’ll paginate it. Click to read more if you really care. ;-)
Okay um… so when did I last post? I guess besides about my computer being down, it was about our anniversary…..
Well, since everyone keeps asking lol
Thursday night (the 3rd) for our anniversary we went out to Red Lobster.
I’d already taken Elijah over to my in-laws earlier that day to give me enough time to actually relax and take my time getting ready. Steve came home and got ready and we left.
We went to the one in St. Louis County and for the first time ever…
we walked in…
“Table for two?”
“Yes.”
“Smoking or non?”
“Non.”
“Okay, right this way.”
lol, never have we been seated that quickly before. Last time I think we had to wait close to an hour before we even got seated.
Anyway, we were seated and enjoyed a nice little dinner. I had to have the mahi-mahi, I mean, it’s what I come for lol. It is so awesome. Had a platter thingy with some rosemary chicken as well - it was great. I forget what Steve had - something with a lot of shrimp, lol.
After that, we dropped by Sam’s and dropped off the film from the photo shoot the other day. It’ll be back Tuesday but I may not be able to get up there and get it until next Friday. Dunno yet.
From there we headed home. Well, back to Steve’s parents’ house to get Elijah, then home.
We haven’t gotten each other presents yet though. I know what I’m getting, and he says not to get him something *rolls eyes* - we’ll see. :-)
It was a good night though.
Um…. that Saturday the 5th we went to my cousin’s graduation party. I can’t believe she is 18!! Seems like she was just 10. Had a good time there. We stopped at my other aunt’s house and picked up this thing they gave us - it’s a tugboat and can be used as a little baby pool or sandbox. Steve was cleaning it yesterday.
There was one point in the day when me and M and my aunt were all on the trampoline dying of heat and laughter. Before my aunt got out though, saying she was now into ’self preservation.’ Then it was me and my three siblings: R, G, M. It was such a blast. Was so funny to see M jump, he was so stiff. But then my dad came out and yelled at us like we were all three years old again, it was pretty embarrassing. He was like, one at a time. Actually surprised he didn’t act like no one should ever go near a trampoline like he used to. This was actually the 2nd time that day he’d done that to me. Earlier he had just layed into me telling me that I ‘had better not’ take Elijah on the float trip in August that everyone’s going on. Well here’s news Dad: he’s going. That would be why we are going to be on a raft and not a canoe and that we bought him a life jacket. He’ll be fine. I was just really ticked off though, I’m not friggin three years old anymore.
Right now I can’t remember too much about the week of the 6th-12th… just that we went to Johnson’s Shut-ins on the 12th. For those of you who don’t know, it’s this really cool place in the Black River where there are a ton of HUGE rocks and the river gets pretty swift because it’s forced through these ’shut ins.’ (State Park Site) It’s totally fun and we try to go at least once every year. We didn’t go last year though because I was pregnant, etc at this time.
It was quite rainy and stormy in the morning and my friend C backed out on going. Don’t really blame her, it was storming at her house pretty good when she was supposed to leave. It was cold, but me and Sarah and Sheila and my father-in-law got in the water anyway. Steve’s a wimp. He didn’t start to get in until we were getting out. So he went to find his parents and us three girls got lunch ready. It was nice and sunny while we had lunch, go figure. After lunch we hit the shoots again and had a ball until we were ready to get out and it started storming on us. Everyone was running back to the main part of the park and we hit the bathrooms and changed…. all the while getting berated by some old ladies who were immature enough to sit there and complain because the bathrooms were full, blah blah blah. But since it was raining, we didn’t hit Elephant Rocks (State Park Site) like we usually do and we just all came back to our house and had our bbq here. Johnson’s Shut-ins takes us like an hour and a half to two hours to get there, but get this, it’s like only 50 miles, my mother-in-law says. How wierd is that? I knew those roads were curvey, but sheesh! Oh yeah, M watched Elijah while we were gone, we knew it would be too cold for him and she really wanted to. She also said, after looking at those newest pics, that I am to take her and R’s pictures, some extra engagement pictures. :D
Sunday the 13th I showed up at church and was cutting it close on time. But B was not there. I see him leaving when I showed up. SO I’m walking into the tv room and John goes, “what are you doing here?” “What do you mean?” “We thought you were on vacation.” Um….. no…. where the heck did you get that idea? Then they proceed to tell me that B’s on vacation and that this punk kid L is running switcher and there is going to be no editing because we will be airing a rerun next week. What the - !? I mean, hello - what am I even doing there if I can’t fill in for B when he’s gone? I figured he’d showed me enough editing stuff that I could at least try. And I know directing. So I felt like a complete idiot and did a few little things here and there, mostly start and stop VTRs and the VHS and mess a bit with the screens switcher and the iris of camera 2 (it’s stupid) because the kid doesn’t really know what he’s doing. I mean, he works the switcher okay, but he wasn’t paying attention to camera 2’s iris, was telling the guys to do wierd stuff, stuff we’re not supposed to do, and he did dissolves THE WHOLE TIME. We only do them for music time, during the sermon it’s cuts only. Arg.
At one point, they said there’s a woman missing from our Sunshine Class (special adults) who has Alzheimer’s. So I helped the deacons a bit in going and looking for her. Of course, I did not find her. Why not you ask? Because she was south down the highway at Walmart when they found her - this is like somewhere between 1 and 2 miles. Steve says 2, but I can’t see it being that far. But holly cow! I was glad when they found her - there was nothing else I could do when I was told someone saw her near Arby’s (near Walmart), so I went back inside and talked to J for a while. He’s our main sound guy, he runs us on the radio and when we are going at peak, he always leaves for a bit to make sure it sounds okay on the radio. So he was heading out and I was heading in. I guess that’s a good thing that came out of all the confusion - was good to get to know him a bit. As he said when I first started in there, “A lot of people don’t even know I exist or that I’m up here every service.” He is very dedicated and good at what he does and it was good to get to know a little bit about him - like apparently he had (has?) like the highest military clearance. Cool. Long story though.
Then after service, in all of my feeling down about what all had happened, we went over to our friends’ L & K’s for lunch with my in-laws (mom, dad, Sheila, Sarah) and K & A showed up and so did Ab & Eh, and of course all of the kids. Had a good time there, it got my mind off all the crap. But I need to talk to B - because as J told me after service… it wasn’t vacation. Uh-oh.
Anyway, then my computer came on Monday and we are back to where we started….
Oh I would like to take some of the local kids we know here to Elephant Rocks and take some pictures. Their mom has already told me I could do some shots of them, I just need to set up when and where, etc. Wonder if she’d let me take them all the way there?
Wow my friend Br just signed online! That’s like never happened before lol…
