spoken for

hmmm… what?

almost there, unrighteous

Thanks for all your comments, guys and girls, I didn’t expect anyone to really care. ;-)

Anyway, since you asked… the new domains are almost-there.net and unrighteous.org.
But before you click —-

almost-there.net - this was a domain name I considered buying when I was thinking about what to get when I got spoken-for.org. I wasn’t really planning on ‘advertising’ this one, but since Sam asked, and I love Sam, here ya are.
Besides, I guess it would be nice to get some feedback on the Layout and such. I think it looks best in FireFox, IE’s got some issues like too big a space between the date and post content. Believe it or not, by the way, but that is another WordPress site. I love WordPress. :-D

unrighteous.org - this was going to be the script site. Really I bought it because I couldn’t decide between almost-there and it, but afterward, I decided on almost-there. Anyway, I was messing with it today and installed Post-Nuke but I was having a heck of a time with it so I deleted it. So there’s nothing at that site at the time of this posting. I thought PN would be good for having a script archive because I could install the phpbb add-on and such. And I run one just fine over at doria.ws but I wanted this one to actually look different than default (even though I actually like the default), and that’s where I got screwed up.
Reluctant to start yet another WordPress site (as much as I love it), I’m actually thinking about making it some sort of photo portfolio. But then again… that would be stupid since I already have them here and here. (Don’t laugh at my stupid website ‘business’)
So anyway, I can’t decide…. anyone got some ideas?

Yes, domains… ever since I ‘discovered’ them and got my first… well, I won’t be going back, I’ll always have at least one. ;-)

I plan to keep spoken-for.org for a long time, I’ve had holifieldweb.net for nearly 3 years now, I’ve had stegenevieve.net for over a year… Then there’s doria.ws which is only a couple of months old, same with another that exists out there somewhere, right, Amber? :cute:
These are, of course, only the ones I own, there are several others that I work on and host for others. I also technically own Sheila’s domain younwhagirl.com because I paid for it ;-) But really I gave it to her as a gift/thank you. I’m thinking of buying valerienichole.com back, just for the hay of it since it was my first domain and all. :cute:

But things tend to grow, all starting out at holifieldweb (lol) and soon needing their own space, as Vix. That’s how this one started (blog) and how stegenevieve.net started. I started to get too much information and visitors for it to be able to easily distinguish it from the rest of the site. The last two weeks alone my visitors have spiked actually, my stats that are emailed to me say that I am getting an average of 38 a day!!!! (To me, that is A LOT.)

Yes, Adam, get a .org ;-)
I never owned a .org until sf. I also have the .com of this domain (because I’m an idiot, apparently) but I originally wanted the .org because I thought it sounded nicer. And, heck, this is not a commercial site!! ;-)

Sam, you should get a domain ;-) The freedom is so much better! I’m sure Victoria will agree, huh? ;-)
And, yes, I do plan on making more scripts, as I learn. Chances are I will have to make some for school in the next year anyway. I need to make one that will keep track of all of my ‘clients’ and the people on my reseller and such. That’s becoming more and more of a priority.

And once again, Tuure, I am glad you are still alive. :-D

Ummmm there was something else I was going to say, but I can’t remember….

Oh yeah, if anyone is actually with me after this rather long and boring post ;-)
I am thinking of installing the plugin for WordPress that will email out a short note whenever I post a new entry. Anyone out there interested? Since I know not everyone has an RSS reader, or cares to have one….

I hope everyone enjoyed my I’d-like-to-think-it original method of plugging.

Hey Val.. that post wasn’t boring at all. I never knew you owned that many domains (though I think I visited almost all the sites before) like jawa said…. you’re addicted :P

I like your new domain names! The almost-there.net lay-out is used one 1 or 2 other sites you own or host right? It is really cute… like the angel! it looks fine in IE too!

Sam - well kind of. It is more complicated than the others, but if you go see Mindy’s page here at SF, you’ll see that basic layout. But I created it in the first place. ;-)
Then I liked it so much that I did it for faith, but skinned it, now it’s at almost-there as my favorite of the skins. It’s in WordPress now, I had to make a lot of changes to get it to work with that, to both index.php and the stylesheet.
You like the drop-down caps? I like ‘em although I wanted them smaller, but the image gets distorted when it’s smaller. Oh well.
    & Thanks!! ;-)

I’ve found that Bloglet works reasonably well for sending out emails of new posts. It’s all opt-in, and subscribers get one email from all of their subscribed sites instead of one email from each site. It pulls your posts from your RDF feed.
