87.5 candles in my living room
I’m waiting for some wax to melt so I can make that 93.5 candles in my living room. It snowed today, so at least they won’t be melting any time soon.
I have:
12 Lilac (6 on the way), 9 Rose Carnation, 9 Honeysuckle, 17 Apple, 12 Cappuccino, 12 Sage, and 11 Blueberry. Those are all sellable. That does not count the five that are not: 2 Lilac (early ones), the LRCH combo, and 2 Rose Carnation (look nice but aren’t scented right). Then there is a 1/2 Rose Carnation, it’s in a half-pint sized jar. :-D
All are labled (except that bad ones) and all except a dozen have ribbons tied around them.
An assorted two dozen of these are set aside for my family, one for mom’s side and one for dad’s side. I don’t think I’ll end up using all those, just taking some extras in case people who don’t usually show up do this year.
They went over well at the gift exchange Monday night, everyone was like, “You made these!? Wow…” and passing them around smelling them. The stupid thing of it all was that my mom ended up with the three that K brought, making her grand total 14. She bought 10 from me for people at her work and they pulled this thing on her of doing something different, drawing names I think; then I had given her another one and my sister one. So now she has 14.
But yup, I am ready, hit me with those orders. My friend EM though, she wants some for her mom and then K probably wants yet some more for A’s family, she already got some for her mother-in-law and sister-in-law.
This is really exciting though because I know my families are going to love them. Then so the younger kids don’t feel left out, we bought a candy bar assortment at Sam’s and they are all getting some of that.
We might take some candles over for Steve’s family — if we even go, we never have, so I’m not sure if we are. At least his grandmother is getting a couple anyway.
And then his grandma in Mississippi - when his family goes down, I am going to send them with some. The 1/2 one is hers - I actually filled a little jar that she had sent home with us full of preserves she made. Just between us, we never touched the preserves (they were something weird I never heard of) but when I realized they were still in the fridge and were like a year and a half old, I cleaned out the jar and made her a candle instead. She’s the type who will think it’s totally cool that it’s the same jar.
Then Sarah is insistent that their mom wants a cappuccino one, so even though they’ve already got some, I will give one to Sarah to give to their mom from her.
I plan on taking one up to my friend Julie who just had a baby tomorrow. I don’t have a baby gift but I have that and some kids books that I originally bought for her other daughter in the first place. So I guess I will take those, too. Hopefully the snow doesn’t keep me home tomorrow.
I wonder if I should take some up for the church staff… just to be nice? ;-) That would be… six there…
C’mon, Christmas, hit me one more time, baby, I’m ready for you this year!
