Christmas Eve’s Eve
It is almost Christmas in my time zone, only 31 minutes to go. But before my Merry Christmas post goes out, I’ll talk a bit about Christmas Eve’s Eve, the 23rd.
I met with Carrie for lunch and we had a good one at Ryan’s and I dropped her back at her car and went to St. Louis… refer to previous post.
I picked up our photos we had taken two weekends ago… I guess I will post them… Especially because of what I will tell you next. But I warn you, both S and I freaking suck in them. E is the only cute one, so he is the only one you can see in a higher resolution. :-D
Then… I had my hair cut.
It’s gone. And I didn’t cry, either.
The coolest part about it though is that they were able to get enough to give to Locks of Love! If you don’t know what that is, basically they make wigs out of real, donated hair for kids with cancer. They braided my hair and cut the 10 inches that is minimum and the stylist said, “Oh, yeah, this is going to make some kid really happy.” :-D
I was so glad to be able to do that even if it was an afterthought on my part, a last minute, “oh do you think I have enough for…?” But it’s just totally cool to me, I have a lways wanted to do that.
So now my hair is about an inch an a half below my ears at the longest part (in front). I will have photos probably when I get the ones from yesterday and today developed. It’s cute, but I am thinking now that I might want to have it layered though which sucks because that haircut yesterday ended up costing me almost $40. :-|
But I like it and I never get “professional” cuts, so… But my family was like, “whoa!” when I walked in.
But then we were late to my mom’s, refer to my previous post about how I hate St. Louis but all was good.
I tell you what — 22 people, if I remember correctly, in my mom’s house, all opening presents - it’s a friggin mad house. I prefer the let one person open something, or a few people, and everyone chill and watch to the open everything as fast as you can method. Of course, the E family seems to prefer the second method. So I didn’t even see my grandpa and his wife open their present from us.
But the candles…
My family loved them! They were like, “You made these!? No, really, you did? Awesome!” Heh, or at least that’s what BE said to me.
Then my cousin, the 4′11″ cop - yeah she started in on me about how I should sell them and she could sell them for me to all her buddy cops. She goes overboard sometimes… which is why we love her. I may have to take her up on the offer of using her digital camera to get some pics of them though. She wants samples of all the scents. ;-)
From my grandpa and his wife, S and I got the usual, a $25 gift card to either Walmart or Sam’s (or both).
Other various presents from aunts and uncles and cousins included a ceramic thingy (reminds me of an urn and has another box thingy), gift card to Blockbuster’s, chocolate covered cherries, a little tool set, Christmas decorations, tree ornaments, more candy. Elijah got the Little People Farm deal that makes the sounds from his great-grandparents and a towel set (for a ‘big boy’), and a cement mixer truck with Mega Blocks in it - which he loves. For S and I, nothing big, as you can see - which is the way I like it.
Then from us, of course, everyone got the candles. ;-)
Maybe tomorrow or Sunday I will write about actual Christmas Eve with S’s family…
[EDIT] Dang. These are the worst photos yet! [/EDIT]
