St. Louis Pictures VI
I’m getting sick of posting these  Oh well, this is the second to last post for these. ;-)
And here we have the photos from the riverfront. Leaving the Arch, we headed down the steps and spent a few minutes down at the river. Then we crossed the street and walked up the other steps. Reminded me of the time I was in Hannibal with Elizabeth and Sheila and we were sort-of sightseeing and walked up numerous flights of stairs to get to that lighthouse only to find out that it was closed for renovations… I was pregnant at the time and suffering from the horrible Mountain Dew induced heartburn and it almost killed me. :)
I have pictures from that somewhere around here…
Anyway…
View of the Arch from underneath.
Same thing…
View from just across the street. It’s too bad I can’t go wide angle enough to get the whole thing without getting out in the middle of the river. Oh well! ;-)
Sarah looking at the river.
Sarah.
Sarah. I just realized that we didn’t get any of Sheila down there… ah well, we were just having fun by now, the sun was pretty bad as you can see…
Just playing around… their two skinny shadows followed by my fat one.
Right after we took that last photo, this swan almost scared me to death - it just flew right over our heads and landed in the water. Then we harrassed it trying to get a decent photo. This was the best I could get as the closer we got the further it swam. I really don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those things out in the wild before, so that was pretty cool. Reminded both me and Steve about the time we were at the beach in Mississippi (my first time at the beach like eva, 2001) and we saw an alligator in the ocean. I know it was an alligator as I know the difference between one of those and a croc. But either way, we thought that was interesting. I took a picture, but he was just too far out to make a good picture with the crappy camera I had at that time.
Looking out into the river…
Switzer’s! ;-)
We thought this sign was cool. You can see it from the top of the parking garage across the street. I submitted it to Stock Exchange but this one was rejected due to “unsuitable for stock use.”
Whatever.
Tomorrow, or later today I close up this series with Kimmswick…
