hmmm… what?

Whoops!!

Whoopsie! I just remembered there is a job interview scheduled for me in a half an hour today. I guess I’m not going!

Okay so there’s more to it than that. I’ve been thinking about going and yesterday I thought, “yeah I think I will do that,” just to check it out you know, because I am curious. But then I failed to call for a babysitter and again forgot completely about it.

I got this email last week:

Hello,
I am very impressed with your background and experience. I would like to interview you in my [city] Office on Wednesday, February 16th at 10:00am for a professional sales position at [life insurance company]. Please remember to bring a copy of your resume. If you are not available at this time, please email me at [email address] or call my office and ask for [name] and I will reschedule an interview for you.

Hehe. So yeah, I was a bit curious because this is the only one of those I’ve gotten in response to my resume that didn’t seem like a scam.

Well, except for this one that I also got quite a bit ago. I am actually honored to receive this one and had to email them back saying that the location was too far and relocation is not an option at this moment for me. Of course, really I’m thinking, there’s no way that I’m qualified!

Hello,

You are receiving this email because your resume is posted on the internet and it looks like your skill set might be a match for a position that I am recruiting for.

Our client is looking for a sharp individual with strong, current experience with large networks, firewalls, routers, switches, PIX, etc. CCNA is required for this position.

This is a long-term contract in [town three hours from here], IL.

Excellent communicatin skills and interpersonal skills are a must for this position.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please send your resume in MS Word format to [email]

Yeah, I’ve got the CCNA 1 but I don’t know what PIX is. My CCNA is really only intro to the intro, who cares if I’m certified in that? If I really want to go in this I needed to keep taking the classes and that’s not my major (web development is). I guess she just saw the words “CCNA 1 Certified” (which I am) and said, “oh that’s what I’m looking for.”

Oh well. :-D

Uh oh, have you e-mailed her back and reschedule or are you just not going? It sucks when you keep forgetting a certain something! ;) I’m curious, what kind of scam type replies did you get? Hmmm, sounds like she jumped the gun a bit. :P That does suck that job is too far away, maybe you could learn these other skills? Good luck with your resume and job search! :)
