hmmm… what?
Yesterday during lunch, the topic of an earliest memory was brought up and I asked my dad about mine.
First, he was pretty surprised that I remembered that, although he said it happened more than once. But I think this particular getting-stuck-in-the-snow event stands out more because we were halfway up the hill rather than at the bottom of it.
He says it was probably 1983 when that happened so that means I would have been either 1 and a half or almost 2 and a half years old, depending on which winter season it was.
So, what is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory is sitting in a baby chair of sorts (don’t know what it’s called..) and tearing up a yellowish flyer or ad. And God’s honest, I wasn’t even a year old… I don’t even think I knew how to stand un-aided.

This a neat topic. It’s hard to say my first. Some of them I remember because they made me worried and stuff. I was a weird kid and thought I was constantly going to get hurt by someone/or I would hurt someone/something, still do but it‘s not as bad. Then again some are just random memories that really aren’t important at all. Like when I was a toddler my Great Great Grandmother wanted to give me some kind of seafood at the Hunting Club and I didn’t want it. It’s hard to say my exact first memory because I remember a lot of things. Perhaps the first would be when my Grandfather gave me beer, I was probably about a year old, I’m not sure though. Anyway it’s strange how some things we can remember and some things we can’t, and some people can’t even remember what they had for dinner the previous day.

I think my first memory (that I’m certain of is mine memory and nothing anybody has told me) is from the summer of 1974. (jepp; I’m old ;)) I had just gotten a baby brother and we was on our way moving to a city two hour or so from the farm I spent most of my childhood in. All the things was taken out of our home and into a big truck. It was so exciting watching it all. I think I was allowed to play around and think I remember jumping from the back of the truck and down to the ground. I was a real fathers-girl and enjoyed being involved in the moving with him (guess I was in the way, though..) :)
Then the big blow: I wasn’t allowed to ride the big truck with dad. Instead I had to ride in mum’s car. With her and my baby brother. I remember being so angry and so sad. I really gave my mother a hard time! :P

I don’t have many memories from when I was under 3. I can remember my third birthday quite clearly – I can remember blowing out the candles on my birthday cake while my grandmother was holding it for me. I do have earlier memories, but they are extremely blurry.
