Whoo-hoo-hoo
Remember when I said that I’d made a 2nd internet sale to someone I didn’t already know?
Well I’ve a repeat customer. :)
I was overjoyed last night to come down and find that she’d ordered eight more! This includes four of one of the ones she’d already ordered, I guess she really likes them! ;-)
I’m ecstatic. At the last fair, I commented to Steve that the area I have a “leg-up” on the other candle peoples is that I have a website. Turns out, one of them has one, the people who’s motto is “the best candle you’ll ever buy” or something like that, but I’m looking at it now and I have to honestly say that mine is better. ;-) I just now see that they do have an online cart, but again, mine, written by Owen, is also better. ;-)
The only reason I can see that these people are so popular is that they’ve been doing this for something like 10 years or so, so everyone around here “knows” them. BUT, these are also the people that don’t fill up the jars all the way - they leave a space of at least an inch lower than where I fill mine (where the jar closes in to fit the lid). Then they’re like 1.5 times my price and they claim they burn 100 hours, but I really don’t think so - not at that size and not even filling them up all the way. I don’t get it at all.
But these people… man. They’ve got a list of their fairs and it’s like every weekend. And I’ve seen their trailer - HUGE. I couldn’t handle a fair a week, that’s nuts. I have other committments. Man, I’d rather just make it big in e-commerce. Less heavy labor. ;-)
Oh well. ;-)
I have two casses of “good” (aka brand new/unused) jars left. Once I use these and have to buy more, I think I’m going to start buying wide mouth ones. They’re easier to light when they burn low down. I think they’re more attractive, too. However, I think my ribbons might have to go bye-bye if I do that. :( Oh well, something’s got to give…
candles, candles, candles! :cute:
