hmmm… what?

Stupid SF

This website has had me pulling out my hair for about the last 36 hours. Maybe you’ve been here in that time and maybe you’ve noticed how it’s been refusing connections left and right.

I think I solved the problem, I do believe it was a certain WordPress plugin that shall not be named causing it, and since it’s been deactivated, things are mostly working okay. I say mostly because it was responding quite well and then suddenly quit for a few minutes on me again.

Sheesh.

With that said, I must also say that my new theme hates that Flickr images plugin (see SF Gallery at sidebar) and that in IE the images jump to the bottom of my sidebar instead of displaying where they should be. And with that said, let me also say I hate IE and I want to kill it and string it up by its toenails. And so I don’t give a flying flip, for the first time ever, what this site looks like in IE because I’m sick and tired of messing with it.

And with all of that said… how’s the site loading for everyone? Could you please leave a comment and let me know if you have any connectivity problems with it as you click around in various places at top speed? Also, if you don’t mind leaving it, your location, at least general (ie Northeast US; Southern China; whatever).

I’m tired. I need sleep. It’s been a long day. I’m hungry…

I think you did an amazing job with the new layout! Very nice indeed ;)

So far, everything looks fine to me - I finally put in a comment today (or rather, right now) .. I was wanting to give you one yesterday, but I couldn’t connect - now that you’ve fixed the problem (or so it seems) It’s all right ;D! YAY! _

It works at work and at home now. Yay!

    It’s still pink, though. ;)

Except for loading a tad slower than the old design, it looks fine to me.

Firefox on Linux. Please don’t ask me to load it in IE.

Thanks everyone - and I must say - the older designs are still available in the 4th block from the top on the sidebar. So, Owen, you don’t have to live with pink forever!!!! :P
Hmmm I do have way too many girlie themes though…
So, Jason, we are noticeably slower now? GRRR.

No, you’re a *tad* slower compared to your other designs. Normal people (read: not anal) won’t notice a difference and it’s entirely possible that the problem is related to rendering delay on my end, so don’t get twisted into knots trying to figure it out.

Other than being pink, it’s a nice design. Good thing I read through RSS ;-)

The site is loading perfectly for me. Using Mozilla 1.0.4 at a lab, and the monitor resolution is 1024×768. All pages are loading really fast. From Southern California. Time is 12:31 pm PST. Person sitting left to me is a girl, pink shirt and white skirt, and guy on my right is wearing a green jacket and blue jeans, the computer color is…..
    ok, that’s enough I think. :p

It’s a wonderful design, no matter how pink!! Love the photos on top (how did you do that?? ;)) Yesterday it was impossible to leave a comment and to read old posts, but today it loads like a charm :)

Works fine in my Opera, Norway is the place!

Yay! I was so sad when I couldn’t view your site yesterday :( Looks great in Firefox. IE is retarded. Plain and simple.

    Bes: LOL :D

Anne: well I’m no image editing whiz, I just decided the size of image I needed and got a blank one that size then took the rose petal photo and resized it so that it would fit but still have room on top and bottom, etc, added a single border, copied it, pasted it into new image. Did the same with the mums on the right (this time making sure it was the same size as the rose petal pic, exactly) and then filled in the middle with photos, each time guessing if they were lined up or not. :) Then saw I had room on the ends so added those last two.
    Added my text…
Created a new layer on top of the background color and brought down the opacity to where it faded to what I’ve got.
    Then saved it. :)

Nicole: I know, IE bothers me so much, too. I’m teaching Sarah to use FireFox. She currently thinks that she has to use it to get to her website. ;-)

Dang it, I just noticed my background image doesn’t quite fit together. Oh well, too tired to mess with it now, probably ever… :)
