BTTF

Again :)

Did I mention that for Christmas Sheila gave me the Back to the Future Trilogy on DVD? I probably did.

Well, now I’m watching #3 and I only have one thing to say:

Theoretically, shouldn’t the 1985 in 1885 Doc remember himself in 1955 sending Marty to 1885 and that when Marty shows up, shouldn’t he not be surprised that he’s there and give him a little lecture for coming after he told him not to in the letter?

Does that make any sense?

Well, I lied, I also want to say something else.

How cool is that that Marty meets his great-something grandparents? I always loved that concept in the story. :)

It’s been a long time since I watched them but didn’t Doc hit his head somewhere in there causing him to forget?

    Um…. no :-D I don’t think so…

He talks about in the first and second movies about how he fell and hit his head in 1955 and that’s how he got the idea for the flux capacitor or whatever it is that is what makes time travel for them possible. At the end of the second movie, he faints when he sees Marty is in 1955 again. In the third movie, it picks up there, he faints, and in the morning he doesn’t remember that Marty is in 1955. But then that’s when he sends him back to 1885. Also in the third movie, towards the end, when they need to go back to 1985, Doc gets drunk over Clara and Marty’s gotta wake him up.

    :-)

I get what you meant about all that confusion. What you said makes a lot of sense, actually, once I read it for the millionth (actually, 2nd, lol) time. You’re right. He should have memory of what happened in the future if he went backwards, unless it wasn’t the one from the future who was surprised and there were actually two of them there. =/ I don’t remember how those movies go, it’s been so long since I watched them, so I’m not really sure.

You have a handsome site and I’ve enjoyed reading a few entries. I got here from an “ozark” technorati tag, I think. I have one suggestion for navigation–add a “main page” button or click somewhere, so if I’m in September and like what I’ve read, I can go to the main page without fiddling with the url or the archives search. If I just missed it, ignore this.

I love genealogy, but don’t do it the “correct” way like going to court houses or state archives–mainly use the internet. Best of luck in all your career interests–something will bubble to the surface and maybe even pay!
