hmmm… what?

Bloomington

Bloomington, Indiana is certainly in a class of its own. It’s not a bad town by any means. But we’ve had a bit of a crazy day today.

First of all, Indiana University is stinking huge. The campus is just enormous. I should be buff by all the stairs I walked today. But it is also gorgeous. We took lots of photos today, both with his camera and mine.

We had to meet the secretary lady at 10 this morning and we parked in the parking garage she’d told him to park in. We were waved in because the ticket giver machine was broken at the time. We then walked several blocks to the building we were supposed to go to. We went inside but couldn’t find the woman he was supposed to meet. He asked a professor who’s door was open and he thought they were downstairs. So we went down a flight. Nope. Down another one. Then we saw a sign: 3rd floor. But, apparently in that building, 3rd floor means 5th because they also have a floor 0 and a floor 006, or whatever. We were shown around the graduate department for criminal justice which included another four flights of stairs or so up and down.

But the buildings are SO COOL!!

He met with a professor who then passed us off on two students going for their PhDs. They were not from here and had accents and I could tell my bro was having a hard time understanding.

Then the secretary lady took us on a driven tour of the city. After an hour or so of that, I was so about to fall asleep in the back of her car. She dropped us off at a Thai restaurant. It was buffet. Neither of us had had Thai before and he hated it and I didn’t particularly care for any of it. Then we had to walk back to campus.

I waited while he met with four other professors or so. I did everything I could to keep myself awake.

We left there and here’s the kicker. When we were leaving the parking garage we had to pay. Twenty freaking dollars. I think the guy was screwing us over because we didn’t have a ticket.

We drove around a bit and took more pictures then located a grocery store to get some supplies and came back to the hotel for supper.

My brother then proceeded to tie up my laptop for the next three hours doing the simplest of things. He’s soooo slow. :-D

But I have learned several things about him I never knew before:

– He’s still the neat freak he was when he was a kid. We came in here and right away he was unpacking his stuff, while I prefer to live out of my bag.
– Despite being a neat freak, he’s a litter bug. Something that really rubs me the wrong way.
– At a stoplight he rocks back and forth (the car)… forward and back and forward and back…

There was something else but I just got interrupted by a multimedia message from another someone I don’t know. Yeah, heh, a couple of weeks ago when I was talking to Christine I got a message with a photo of some 12 year old looking kid in a car. I said, “Do I know you?” And they responded, “who r u?” Well, dummy, you only sent me a photo. Now I just got one of a 14 year old looking girl in a house next to windows. These are local exchanges these photos are coming from… :|

Anyway, so tomorrow he’s got another couple of meetings planned for him and lunch with a PhD student and a tour of the campus with her. I might stay here, or he said I could drop him off and take his car around town.

That’s weird that you got another one of those messages. Did you ever try calling the number from your home phone (with *69 of course)?
