So lately Elijah’s gotten to understand possessives, I do believe. He doesn’t say “mine” or “Elijah’s” or anything, yet he runs around the house and labels everything “Mommy’s” or “Daddy’s.” For instance, apparently the satellite/tv remote is mine but the dvd player remote is Steve’s. He knows Daddy’s books and pens for school and he knows Mommy’s computer stuff.
However, he’s about to drive me crazy. Apparently, the travel diaper wipes container is “Me-maw’s” and he refuses to leave it alone. He seems to think that because it’s not Mommy’s or Daddy’s but Me-maw’s that he has all rights to it while she’s away. No matter where I put it, he seems to find it and start the process of drying out the wipes.
He’s. Driving. Me. Crazy. Today.
I feel like I have the level of frustration that Mr. Oliver Douglas in Green Acres has with every person in that stupid town.

Jonathan’s getting to be the same way. He accidently came home with an Easter egg from my grandma’s once and he flipped out because he knew it was “gamma’s” and it wasn’t supposed to be at our house. Kind of funny until he kep trying to leave the house to take it back to her.
Wow, that’s nice! About him driving you crazy, hmmmm, you have to take care of everything and yet you still have the energy to write posts that make sense. His association of things with people; he’s really smart it seems, heh. Cute “Me-maw’s.”
Nicole, lol @ wanting to take it back.
I haven’t seen the series, so am going to find a few episodes to see what you mean. :)
Erm… at least he *is* learning? Hehe, he sounds so annoyingly adorable. “He’ll grow out of it,” if that is an consulation.
It sounds like he’s in the “I must categorize” phase.
Hang in there and know that I KNOW what you’re going through! :)
Well at least he is learning about property respect. Some kids as old as 13 don’t care what belongs to who, they just touch it.
He’ll get through it.. but in the meantime.. you might not be laughing today, but remember in 10 years you’ll be looking back on this and WILL laugh. :)
And LOL at Nicole… :P
Sam’s exactly the same, although everything in our house that he wants is considered his, when what he doesn’t want seems to be ours!
