hmmm… what?

Just so frustrating

I may have to reformat the desktop again, it sucks so bad. It refuses to recognize my external hard drive at all now. Luckily I was able to get all my files off while it was working. But then, just as I suspected, once I restarted the computer it was gone again. Plus, sometimes when restarting it, it hangs with a black screen on startup. It wouldn’t be so bad, I guess, if it were the laptop, but the desktop is the “main frame” of the network. *sigh*

Ick, I’m sorry. I feel your frustration.

Yes, still frustrated with this. I think I figured out the problem though, there seems to be no USB support on the desktop at all. Or it’s been finicky anyway, picking and choosing when it will work until now it no longer works at all. The external hard drive recognized long enough for me to format it, pull the files back from the desktop, back up the desktop and then when I restarted my computer it’s gone again. I have yet to see it back. I know it’s not the drive, I disconnected it and hooked it to my laptop - just fine there. And then I go to all this trouble of printing from the laptop (because MS Word is not installed on desktop yet and I needed some candle labels) and my new printer won’t print either. It keeps saying that it’s “offline.” It’s USB. The old printer with one of those fat cables, that works. And now I’m wondering about my camera, I unloaded photos from it Saturday just fine, I wonder if it will get my APAW photos off today…
*sigh* I’ve installed all the drivers I know of from my cds, have no idea what’s wrong with USB…
