Being the mother of a two-year-old, I get to see lots of Nickelodeon and Nick Jr and Noggin and all that jazz. Lately we’ve been hit with this commercial constantly and both E and I totally love it, so I just had to share. :)

Cracks me up everytime… I love it!!

Unfortunately, April 1st is the day of my first fair, so I guess I will have to miss Jack Black on the Nickelodeon Kid Choice Awards.

But then again, that’s probably for the best. Taking a look at the celebrities and etc that these kids are voting on, I’m appalled. A lot of these are people and things that kids shouldn’t even be listening to or seeing in the first place!! Mostly I’m thinking of these categories:

    Hhaha….the commercial is annoyingly amazing. Is that even possible? Oh, well. And, hey! Some of those nominees are kind of…adult worthy….and not child worthy. Or something like that. That’s not cool. It’s kinda scary actually. They can’t be doing this to the kids of our nation. Those kids have to take care of me when I’m old.

    Pretty catchy commercial….

    Anyways, yeah I think Hollaback Girl is a bit too “mature” for younger kids to be listening to. I think though that the only vote for it is because it’s a catchy tune, I don’t even thin kthey know what the lyrics really mean.

    Oh forgot to ask, what code or how do you get the video to play on your site. Whenever I try to put a video on my site it never plays and then I right click it and choose error-details and it always tells me that the video filter isn’t loading or something like that.

    Yeah, some of that stuff definitely isn’t suitable for children. :/ It really amazes me what a lot of kids do/listen to/watch, etc. now-a-days. Hahah, I like Jack Black. :D And the beat from that commercial is really starting to grow on me! I think it’s going to be stuck in my head now. :P

    Jack Black is cool :D but yeah, some stuff on Nickelodeon, I’m surprised at what they let on TV nowadays. But allowing kids to see all of this stuff is out of the question. Oh I remember liking Nickelodeon and thinking it was good kids TV when I lived with my mum.

    Sorry for the double post, I don’t think it went through correctly the first time…

    Sadly, that’s not even the best version of the commerical. There’s an “extended version” that has each Jack coming into the song separately and then leaving separately at the end. It’s much better. :)

    But, yeah, everytime I load my site to read comments or whatever, the kid runs over here and watches the commercial with a huge smile on his face. And then he starts in about the m&m’s that are currently in the sidebar under latest photos. “Nims! Nims!”

    Jon, I’m sure there are many ways to do this, but since I never can remember I swiped this from a tutorial site when I was ready to write the post:

    Of course, there’s lots in there you would need to customize such as the width and height and of course, URL to the file in two places. The original code wasn’t scrunched together like that but I had to get everything to one line of text otherwise WordPress freaked out. Hope that makes sense.

    Im just saying I know my Mixer Delix 6 video was in the vicinity of Jack Black and it is very similar- If you made the Nick spot then Ill take your word for it- these things happen- but I just wonder how its concept was cemented

    I can’t really say what’s original and what’s not. Seems these days nothing is. I’ve seen this concept several times over the last few years it seems.

    Nothing new at all– this has been around since the dawn of pop culture. You think kids in the ’50s liked listening to Guy Lombardo?

    Funny how the trend continues to the present day, with parents saying what their parents said: “The things kids listen to nowdays!”

    (Indeed. I am a parent. But I’m not at all surprised.)

    Jack Black is definately an amazing all-around musician, and whoever said he was saying I’m gonna take a piss, I’m gonna take a shit, doesn’t know anything because he definately says nothing between the psssst and shhhh.. he is just mimicing symbols, don’t look so far into it.. And to all you people who think kids know too much now, I think the worst shows for kids are the ones that glorify the stupid things and make life seem perfect.. Sex is not a bad thing, everyone has it eventually, and if kids know more about it instead of being sheltered then maybe they wouldn’t be so stupid about it later on.. most of you people think kids are a lot dumber than they really are.. give them some credit and the freedom to think on their own and you might be surprised..

    Okay, people… if you’re going to steal the video, then steal it, but please stop leeching my bandwidth! I don’t own the video but I certainly own my bandwidth! Not to mention, it would be nice if you’d say where you got the derned video instead of just saying “enjoy” to your visitors.
