hmmm… what?

Oh, now I get it

I now understand why my great-grandparents called each other Mother and Daddy, why my parents kinda did the same thing (Mom and Dad when we were little and sometimes now).

Elijah and I are currently arguing about whether or not my husband’s name is “Daddy” or “Stephen.”

*sigh*

Kids.

He walked up to me and said, “Stephen at work?”

I was caught off guard. “Yes…. No, wait, Daddy’s at work!”

“Stephen!”

“Daddy!”

“Stephen!”

“Daddy!”

“Stephhhhhhhhennnn!”

I guess I lose…

lol thats hilarious! I sort of had the same thing with my parents. I used to call them by their names because I believe it showed them more respect than just Mom and Dad but I still call them that too. My grandparents hated it and thought it showed less respect so I dont know who’s right on the issue.

Good luck debating with your kid, I know I never lost a battle when I was one :)

    :-D

Thats so cute!! Even though it probably shouldn’t be. You should have said “Daddy or no icecream!” that would have shushed him up!

That totally makes sense, Val! Now, does that understanding apply to my grandparents calling my aunts and mother “sis”? Of course, they had ten children… they probably just kept forgetting everyone’s name. LOL!

    Stephen!

That’s funny and oh sooo like children. They are so very literal.

My wife and I call each other mommas and daddy often. Of course now having grandchildren, it got to be nana and papaw. The grandergirls call us that.

But wait, we also use Mr. and Mrs. Jordan with each other. Old Navy thing. :)

    Cheers, and enjoy his wit.

lol, I’ve learned that when it comes to a battle of the wills, Jonathan will beat me every time.

I always call Tyler “daddy” to Jonathan, and sometimes find myself saying something like “What do you think daddy” even when I’m not talking directly to Jonathan.
