hmmm… what?

I know, I’m sad.

We have a “new” local channel as of this summer, or at least that’s when I noticed it. Most nights at 9pm I’ve been watching the Beverly Hillbillies on it, they play mostly older stuff. Well, lately, we’ve been hit with this commercial… I was just hit with it twice in a row, in fact.

You see the backs of the heads of this couple sitting on the couch, watching tv, and you get to see what they’re watching. They see three people talking and change the channel after each one until you get to the one that’s the actual commercial they want you to see.

I understand two words in this whole commercial… financial freedom.

Why? The whole thing’s in Spanish!!

This is the first time I’ve seen a non-English commercial in our area… and I’m annoyed…

They talk wayyyyyyy too fast for me to even begin to try and figure out exactly what they’re talking about.

:(

I’m with you, if the channel was a Spanish language channel then I’d expect every commercial to be in Spanish. Elsewise, I expect every commercial, the few I really watch, to be in English.
That said, I’d probably not notice except late at night. I rarely watch commercials, except the funny ones. :)

It’s still interesting, though, that they air commercials in other languages. I’m guessing many people in different languages talk fast, like on the radio in english when bank commercials explain the APR rates in less than 10 seconds.

Do you have a large spanish-speaking community in your area?
