hmmm… what?

The fortune you seek is in another cookie

How about some Friday randomness?

Random Item #1 - I really did get that line in a fortune cookie a couple of months ago. I was out with Elijah, Sarah, Mom, My brother, Morgan, and their baby. We were all opening our fortunte cookies and they were starting to get frustrated with me because I couldn’t seem to stop laughing at mine… until I finally read it aloud that is… “The fortune you seek is in another cookie.”

Random Item #2 - I love our little gas station down the street. It’s known as DJ’s and even though they’re only open to around 10.30 or 11 at night, I love to go there for an occassionaly 32 oz Mountain Dew. (Buying one of those occassionally is better than buying a 12-pack or something because in the long I drink less. And, in fact, it even tastes better than canned.) If I have Elijah with me, I’ll go through the drive-thru. Now here’s what gets me. The 32 oz soda is 85¢ including tax. If you hand them a dollar bill then they get the soda, everytime, they will just hand you the soda… with your 15¢ change on the lid. Now, is it me, or should this be outlawed by the health department? I think it’s enough that they don’t buy the individually wrapped straws, so they’re touching your straw to put it in the drink and they’re putting dirty, nasty money on your lid. Well, obviously, I try not to think about it too much.

Random Item #3 - The other night I actually did some gardening. I hate gardening. Mostly anyway. But it just goes to show you how often I look over towards the rose boxes (as opposed to the rose garden) as the four bushes were all completely swallowed up by a morning glory that was growing out of a huge crack in the patio, and there was a weed-tree that had suddenly gotten really tall, too tall for me to effectively remove it anymore. I also had to cut the tall bush in the garden that has been there for about four years now but has only ever once (last year) produced one flower. It was seriously 10 feet tall. It annoys me greatly.

Random Item #4 - My mom sent me some gift cards for Sears for my birthday. I have no idea what I want. No idea.

Random Item #5 - I think Elijah likes McDonald’s only for the fact that they currently have little Hummer’s in their Happy Meals. I bribed him today, since it’s Friday, that if he’d go on the potty, when I went to the bank, we’d go to McDonald’s. He got his Happy Meal, but in retrospect, he only ate about three french fries, none of his nuggets. He then ran off to play with his new Hummer. He has approximately seven of them.

Gardening, does that involved looking at gardens? I’ve got a membership to the Botanical Garden, they have lots of gardens for me to look at. Ha.

Oh, I miss the days when I was satisfied by a McDonalds toy.

Gift cards rock..unless you put them on the counter in the pile with other misc stuff and forget about till the next time you get one. I usually end up with 1 to 3 book store gift cards over Christmast or birthday. That’s usually when I buy one or two of those $50 books.

We add “… in bed” onto whatever fortune we get.

And there are few things like the Big Gulps from 7-11. Cans suxors.

Random item # 1 : That’s so, hmmm, capitalistic? LOL

Random item # 4 : I would also like McDonald’s if they gave something free with it to all customers, like some money back, since I can’t really think of liking their food based on taste or quality.
