Thanks for all of your comments. I have $26K in credit card debt and all of the limits were reduced recently as well as an increase in APR. Are there other companies out there competing with them?

I had 4 credit cards managed under them, all of which were drawing over limit and late fees and maxed to 24.99% as a penalty. Credit Guard ended up getting the APR's to somewhere between 10-15% depending on the card, and I believe the combined payment was about $480/month (give or take a few bucks). It may sound like a lot, but some of those minimum payments were ~$300-400 before Credit Guard renegotiated everything, so it was a huge improvement. A home equity loan is a great way to go though since the percentage rate is so low.

Thanks for the comment Skelly, I'm glad to hear you got out of debt using them! We were with CareOne for about a year and a half and didn't really feel like we were getting anywhere and our credit ratings had actually dropped. So we took out a home equity loan (which is really what I wanted to do in the first place but at the time my husband wouldn't agree) and are now making smaller payments and paying more on principle, etc. We had/have less than $35k in debt, too, less than half actually. Just seems like it takes forever.

If you don't mind my asking, could you please tell me how big the payments were that you were making and do you know what the interest rates were that they gave you?
