Still in pain

I guess I pulled a muscle, or something. I’m still hurting, though I think it might be better than it was earlier this week. I’ve obtained some muscle relaxers and I think they’re helping. Though if I don’t show more improvement by Monday, I’m gonna have to go to the doctor. The thing that sucks about that, though, is that I don’t really have a doctor. I haven’t been to a doctor besides the OBGYN for years. Years. So I’m a new patient to anyone I go to.

But one minute I’ll be perfectly fine and then the next, I’m in extreme pain. For instance, earlier I was sitting in the chair and I felt great, but as soon as I stood up to go into the kitchen, I was so stiff I could hardly stand or walk again.

E is trying to take advantage of me though. He knows I can’t move real fast and so he’s taking things from me and running off with them. He’s also been refusing as much as he can to use the potty all this week. I don’t know what his deal is. He was doing so good. Right now, he’s on the couch watching Curious George and occassionally starts yelling at me, “Chocolate milk! Some more chocolate milk!” But as long as he refuses to say “please,” I refuse to get him anymore. So there. I take that back, now he’s over here trying to scream that in my face. But I refuse to back down. I’ll just pretend it doesn’t bother me. I guess.

This back pain also really stinks because I have a craft fair tomorrow. It’s just a little one, from 11 to 5, but still. I can’t lift anything whatsoever. I mentioned to Steve that maybe he and Sarah should do it without me and I’ll stay home with E, but he got really mad and said well, I should have gone to the doctor already then. So I guess I have to go.

*sigh*

Lots of sympathy to you! This is how I feel everyday of my life so I can totally relate :( I won’t even ask how you obtained these muscle relaxers lol You should try Aleve though :) Anti-inflammatory = great for back.

Aww, lol. Yeah Ive had a weird leg pain before, but the doctor said the only way to get rid of it was to walk on it.

Funny I remember doing the same thing to my mom… repeating the yelling game until I get a response… It was fun until I actually got one :|

    Well, I’m alive. lol
Was actually not in too much pain through most of the day though I’m feeling it now - been too busy, it’s time for bed.

I got the muscle relaxors from Anita. They’re what she gets from her doctor for the very same thing. I really do think they’re helping. Also taking ibuprophen.

Oh girl go to WebMD or something on the internet and stretch that muscle like they say..
That is the only way to help a pulled muscle…… Did you play sports or did your husband..
The coach would always say stretch that muscle…
But do it slowly and right ..
    Get some good instructions..

Sorry you did this I know they hurt..
I am still dealing with one in my back since like May…………….

OMG I’m going through the same pain as you are. It’s like spasms right? I don’t know how I managed to get my back all kinked up but for 3 weeks it’s been like this. Some days are better than others but it really sucks. Especially when you want to be active and do something that’s when it wants to flare back up.

When I went to the chiropractors they told me to use cold packs and lemme tell you the relief is awesome!! Don’t use hot because it just makes it worse. I used muscle relaxers and they just made me sleepy. Ibuprofen worked good but I guess taking 2-3 every 6 hours a day for 3 weeks makes it stops working.

I hope you find something that works for you and makes you feel better! Get well soon!!! ;)

Muscle relaxers scare the crap out me of.. But I guess that’s only because I’ve only ever seen people who’ve taken too much of them. :/

Anyway, hopefully it gets better. Your best bet probably will be going to the doctor.

    Hope things get better fast…

Aw shucks, sorry about the pulled muscle girly. This calls for a hot bath! With bubbles! And no kids or husbands. :)

    Thanks everyone :)

I never did get to the doctor, I am just too busy! Haha. Seriously. :P But I am feeling better. Today I was quite active up in the control room - had to sort through a lot of old tapes and set out some for throw-away - and I did hurt here and there, but for the most part - much better. I took the last relaxer pill today, having come down from three a day as needed to only once when I have to. So we’ll see how that goes.

As far as spasms, I don’t think so. It’s pretty much a constant pain all across the way lower back, sometimes resonating down my upper legs (outter) or along my side. It’s very stiff. I do have spasms though, have since about 11th grade, I guess. They’re not as regular as they used to be though, thank goodness. I’ve had some pretty bad ones. Such as the time when I worked at Hardee’s and was on my knees on a countertop messing with a high menuboard. I had a bad one that almost knocked me off. Or the time I was playing pool with a friend and as she’s getting ready to shoot, I fell face flat forward on to the pool table. She thought I was playing around until she realized I couldn’t move for a minute. Those things are weird - they totally take control of my body for a second or two and they HURT. They always occur somewhere more towards the sides of my back and will jerk me one way or another. Again, though, they don’t happen as much as they used to. I did go to a doctor for this and my headaches a few years ago. All he did was prescribe me some of the prescription strength ibuprophen. That was when I decided that doctors don’t know anything and I’ll just have to deal with it all myself. :P If these were happening more often, though, I would go to a different doctor, it’s just not my main concern right now, I guess.

    BUT ANYWAY… Talkative much…

    :P

Thanks again, everyone, for the well wishes. I feel that if I just refrain from doing any heavy lifting or strange movements for a while at least, I’ll be fine.
