So how was your Thanksgiving? Mine was really good. :)
We went first to my parents’ house and got together with some extended family and then went to Steve’s parents’ house for an immediate family gathering there. Mostly I have pictures from the first gathering, I took a few at the second but none were as good as these.
Of course, most of the photos are of Elijah and my niece, it seems. That would be because, not only did I, for once, not take a lot of photos, but both of them are just so darn cute and photogenic!
Of course, I also learned something… I now get to teach my three-year-old the concept of theft and not to do it:
In this photo, Elijah was upset here because Steve had handed my niece one of his toy cars. But if you look closely at that green car in her hand, you realize something. It’s a Ramone from the Cars movie, and it’s not even Elijah’s! Turned out he swiped it from Sarah! I’m not sure when he did it, but it just appeared at the house this week. I’ve been asking him all the time, “Is that Aunt Sarah’s car?” “NO! It’s Elijah’s Ramon, Elijah’s car, MY car!” That night, after this photo, when we were at her house, I asked Sarah. She didn’t know he had it at all, she didn’t give it to him. She’d already given him her Flo, and he has two other Ramones, a purple and a yellow, around here somewhere.
So my little boy has officially stolen something now, and from his aunt at that! How to break this before it becomes a habit, I wonder?

Hmm… sounds to me like he didn’t know it was stealing. ? Or maybe because she gave him the first one, he thought the other one could just be taken too? This is kinda tricky… but yeah, you’re probably right to put a stop to THAT a.s.a.p.
er..i’m wondering what a ramone is.
Yeah, I’m sure he doesn’t exactly understand yet the concept of stealing. However, she gave him the other car, I think, only because he kept whining about it and saying it was his. So she eventually decided it was better to just make him happy than listen to him whine and just said he could have it. Of course, then he says, “Fankoo, Sarah,” and runs off happy.
And sorry, Letti, hehe, this is Ramone! He’s a character who lives in Radiator Springs in the movie Cars. :)
I have yet to see the movie, but I love the look of the cars - no wonder he had to take it ;) Good he have a nice auntie Sarah!
Happy Thanksgiving, by the way, I completely forgot since we don’t celebrates this in Norway….
Hey hun,
Thanx heaps for your help, i’ll have to give it a go when i make my next layout when i get around to it lol.
Take care hun,
Catchaz!
Elijah seems like quite the clever little boy. As far as breaking that habit goes, I think most every child goes through that sort of phase, you know, everything is theirs. The only thing I can think to suggest is to keep drilling it in his head that it isn’t his and that it is wrong to do that. If all else fails, you could take something from him and let him see how it feels. :/ Good luck, I hope you think of something. :)
Hey..
Aw, Elijah is so cute! I’m sure he’ll grow out of the habit of stealing though, he’s probably too young to know better! :P
I’m glad you had a good thanksgiving! We don’t have thanksgiving in Australia. haha.
Take care Xox.
