Western Digital is apparently donating to breast cancer research when people buy their pink Passport 250GB drive: wdc.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=383. However, I can't find how much they are donating, they just say they'll make a donation for every one bought through the end of February 2008.

I guess at least Sandisk is honest about how much of the cots they actually donate...

Wow. Yeah, I'd rather donate the money directly in cases like this, and stick with Amazon.

Wow. I view the issue the same way. I can't believe they will actual advertise that way.. way to go for being honest, but seriously. $1.. that's like practically nothing.. that's sure helping research.. if it goes that way, why don't we use our money and give it directly, rather than spending on their products and *hope* that they will actually use the money they received to expand the research?.. pfft.
