hmmm… what?
Well I’m home sick this morning. Normally I wouldn’t call in sick for a sinus infection but this isn’t normal.
I feel like I can’t hear out of my left ear. I am wondering if my sinuses are blocked in a more permanent manner or something because nothing I do does any good. It just keeps getting worse and worse. There’s so much pressure behind my left ear it’s ridiculous. I’ve never felt anything like this before. It feels like my eardrum is just going to explode and gross crap is going to spill out my ear. Wouldn’t be implausible. I know a girl in junior high/high school that that happened to. But it’s also strange because the right side of my face is just fine. My throat doesn’t hurt anymore and my coughs, while painful, are rarer and while I have to blow my nose occasionally, I can breathe just fine. No fever, either.
So I don’t get it. I mean, I was fine! Last week, dealing with Elijah’s fevers, my sinus infection and what not cleared all up… for about two days. And now this, as of yesterday. We were heading out to eat last night and I could just feel the pressure building around my ear. Really surreal, actually.
So I’m home and for the next hour and a half, I’m alone. It’s kind of nice. Steve took Elijah to church without me. Of course, Elijah rolled out of bed announcing that he was going, he would have been mad not to go. But I probably won’t go to my class tomorrow morning. I’m gonna call the doctor first thing, I hope they can get me in fast before my head explodes. Of course, now I’m wondering if I should bother with our general practitioner at all or try to get into an ear, nose, throat doctor… or maybe I have to be referred to one? Who knows. All I know is that this may kill me before then.

I had an ear problem and it turns out I had a bacterial infection, a fungal infection, AND a hole in my ear drum. It was the most pain I’ve ever felt in my life!
I would go to an ear, nose, and throat doctor. That’s what I had to do to get some RELIEF!

I’m with her ^. That doesn’t sound good, get thyself to a doctor. Yes, again. Sorry lady, but you got an ear infection. Let that go and you could end up with even worse things once your ear heals!

So apparently I’ve been to the doctor so much lately that when they answer the phone and I identify myself the receptionist now says, “Oh, you poor thing.”
So I asked them to prescribe the antibiotics he offered last week and she said he might call me or might just call the medication in so later this afternoon I have to swing by the pharmacy and see if it’s there for me.

I hate it when I get sick and I can’t hear out of the ears. You should go to a natural foods store and see if they have any remedies for that. My boss gave me this ear thing and you just drip it in your ear. It subsides the horrible feeling and makes you feel better.
