Well, I don’t think I have ever been this excited about a camera before! I love this thing!

Yes, it arrived today, finally, the Nikon D60. I can see right off that there are, of course, some things I’m going to have to get used to. For instance, I have to get used to (again) looking through the eye piece rather than using the rear LCD screen to set up a shot. Of course, that’s how my SLR is, but I’m just out of the habit of shooting that way, for obvious reasons. I also noticed that I’m going to have to be very careful about turning the thing off. I don’t know yet if it has an auto-off like my other cameras do after a certain period of time, but since the lens doesn’t suck up inside the camera like them, I’m going to have to make sure I pay special attention to whether or not the switch is turned to off or on when not in use.

Anyway, I don’t think I have anything to say about the camera right now that you can’t already find by Googling it, but here are some of the shots I’ve taken today, trying to get used to this thing.

I am excited, though, about setting up and doing some really long exposures but I gotta get the remote first. Also however, excited about that, ’cause it’s less than $15 from amazon.com. (That surprised me, I was expecting more.) Oh, and I did get the two lenses with it, the standard 18-55mm and the 55-200mm one. I am loving that 55-200mm, too, by the way.

Anyway, I’ll shut up now. Have to get back to making supper and soon there will be a speed scrap at the scrapmatters.com forums. I missed the one earlier today so hopefully I can make this one. :)
