mini-trip to Taneycomo & Branson

I don’t guess anyone noticed I was gone and we weren’t really gone all that long, just a few days, but, ya know, we got a little vacation. Actually, even though it was only three days and two nights, it felt a lot longer (and more relaxing) as Elijah stayed with Steve’s parents the whole time.

He didn’t really mind being ditched, either. We left Sunday morning and when I called Sunday night, he wouldn’t even talk to me, he said he was BUSY. Busy doing what, I don’t know, but when Grandma called him to the phone about the second or third time I heard him cry out, “I don’t wannnnnnnna! I’m BUSY!” Well, whatever, it was more funny than it was insulting, I’m ok. So much ok that I didn’t even bother to call on Monday! I just enjoyed my time away, ha. He didn’t even really want to go home when we got him Tuesday night, either. He just wants to move in with Grandpa and Grandma.

We brought him a few presents though, a coon “skin” hat, a little wooden pop gun, and a tiny bit of candy. We had to look at three or four stores before we found that pop gun — I knew exactly what I wanted it’s just like the ones we had when we were little, you know, the kind you used to be able to find that were hand made. The coon skin hat is actually slightly too small but Grandma thinks she might be able to enlarge it. I didn’t think any of it was real, either, but Steve says the tail is real. Ooohhh. It was hilarious, though, this morning, to see him running around in his underwear and socks with that hat on his head, shooting that pop gun. The gun is actually insanely annoying but it’s all so very hilarious.

Poor Rimshot, though, he does take offense to being ditched. The son of my friend/neighbor comes over though, gets our mail and takes Rimshot out and what not but apparently, I’m still the best and that silly dog… Every time we go away, when we come back, he doesn’t leave my side for days… Eh… not that he really leaves my side anyway. He’s my buddy. He also does not, at all, like the pop gun.

But anyway, there you have it. I do plan on talking more, I just can’t seem to get my act together to gather my thoughts or decide which photos to upload. So in the meantime, a sight you don’t see too often (him smiling for the camera)!

smile!

Oh, yeah, we went to Lake Taneycomo and Branson, MO. :)

  1.

I’ve only been to Branson once.

I bet it was nice to have just a ‘couple’s’ weekend to relax and just spend time together.
