Why have you taken out my post? It was very helpful information and i assure atleast one person found it helpful unlike the rest of the comments on this web site. I’ll post it again. Fed up with obtaining low amounts of useless visitors to your website? Well i want to tell you about a fresh underground tactic which makes me personally $900 each day on 100% AUTOPILOT. I really could be here all day and going into detail but why dont you merely check their site out? There is a excellent video that explains everything. So if your seriously interested in making simple money this is the website for you. Auto Traffic Avalanche

So not only are they trying to submit comments that look real, but they’re trying to be insulting to the webmaster and other visitors as well.

Rude. :P

Then there’s stuff like: “Hello can I use some of the insight here in this entry if I link back to you?”

No. kthxbai.

Really, have to wonder why a “p3n!$ enlarger” site might have to use something I’ve posted. lol

Ahhhhh but, yes, thank you Akismet! :)

My mouse is driving me nuts! It’s blue tooth and I only just bought it a couple of months ago, a replacement for the exact same model I’ve had for 2 years.

I can’t figure out what the deal is, but a lot of the time when I click on something, it double clicks. It’s insanely annoying and frustrating when it does that when I’m trying to control+ select stuff and then all the files open. Or when I close a tab in the browser and it closes two or three. Then, to make matters even more interesting, after it started doing that about a week ago, it started sometimes not clicking at all when I click. So either a single click is getting me nothing or it’s getting me a double click!

It’s driving me nuts but I don’t really know for sure if this is just the mouse’s problem – maybe there could be something wrong with my blue tooth module? Maybe my last mouse didn’t really die, maybe there’s something wrong with the blue tooth. Almost wish I hadn’t thrown it away!

But it’s driving me batty!!!!!

I already use a lot of keyboard short cuts but I guess I need to learn to use my touch pad more when I’m at home. Blah.

The other night our power went out, spontaneously, around 6:30pm. More accurately, it went out, came back, went out, came back, and went out again. My poor printer was having congestive heart failure. Immediately, Elijah is freaking out and trying every appliance in the house, just to see if it worked. The rest of the evening was, for me, hot and stuffy and filled with Elijah’s ranting paranoia about the dark. Kayleigh wasn’t too happy, either. (You know preemies and their schedules, don’t dare break it or thou shalt surely die.) We ended up driving north a half an hour to get something to eat in a drive-thru where we wouldn’t encounter people. The power still wasn’t back when we got home and we all bedded down in the living room (too hot upstairs but bearable down here)… and the power came back, right around 11pm. The first thing I did was turn the a/c on. :)

But my whole point is… the whole time I just kept thinking what a blessing it was that Kayleigh is off the oxygen, doesn’t need the feeding pump, the monitors, or anything that required electricity. Granted, when she was on oxygen, we did have some portable tanks, but if she had been on oxygen and the power hadn’t come back on after about a half an hour, I would have taken the concentrator and high-tailed it to my parents’ house to have some refuge and assurance that we suddenly wouldn’t run out of oxygen or use up all our reserves. We had no idea when the power would be back.

I was on the phone with my dad, I actually was really considering going up there because of the way Elijah was freaking out, it seemed to be growing hotter, and I knew I needed some good sleep before K’s renal scan the next morning. I mentioned that I was thankful Kayleigh didn’t have any of her equipment anymore and my dad said, “oh, aren’t you on a priority list? [Yes.] Did anyone even call you?”

Then I thought about it. The first business day after K came home, Steve went and submitted papers to the electric company and the 911 service. They basically stated that we had an infant at home with special needs and that if power is out, we NEED it for that oxygen and then (for 911) that if a call comes from this house, it’s very important! The equipment company had given us one for the phone company, too, for if service was out but we didn’t fill that one out because we both have cell phones.

So, yes, I know we were not a priority house because it was such a huge problem. However, don’t you think it would have been good for the electric company to give us a call? Say, “hey, look, we got this problem… wanted to make sure you’re ok… we think it will take us this long to get things back up, can you make it that long? …do you want us to help you find a place to go where you can have electricity?”

Yes, I am aware that electricity is a glorious privilege, and, yes, I’m aware that they didn’t have electricity x years ago, blah, blah, blah. But to think about it, if this had happened when Kayleigh’s life still depended on extra oxygen support and what if we didn’t have portable tanks? And what if we had nowhere to go? And it took 4 1/2 hours to get that support back? She’d have had to go to the hospital. It was also extra aggravating because they got the rest of the county back up about an hour and a half before the town and immediate surrounding area.

So, thanks for nothing, electric company, I’m glad my daughter’s life wasn’t in your hands.

I am SO tired of people who start stuff that’s not fully true and then scare others into passing along their “info” full of half truths.

Case in point, I just got this email:

Now you know “the rest of the story”… Unfortunately the damage has been done.

———————————————————————–

This is unbelievable

Be sure and watch this video which was not allowed in America .

This video shows that George Bush tried to warn Congress in 2002 that this economic crisis was coming, if something was not done. But congress refused to listen, along with Barney Franks. This video says it all.

Also that the liberal AMERICAN media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.

This link is of the same video but is routed through Canada . Everyone in America needs to see this!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMnSp4qEXNM&NR=1

Can you already see how laughable that is? I’m not even talking about the merits of the video…. I mean, whatever. I’m just looking at the email itself. Whoever first wrote this claims that the video is “not allowed” in America (therefore censored), even though it obviously came from American station Fox News. (Don’t let the blue bar at the top fool you, that was added later by the person who uploaded the video.)

They also claim that the link is “routed through Canada” (what the heck?) but it’s clearly just another YouTube link that does nothing but take you to the video.

The email claims that “the American liberal media did not want this video on You Tube, so they had Time Warner threaten a law suit (proprietary rights) if it was not taken off.” Now, I could be wrong about this, but from what I can tell Fox News is owned by Fox Entertainment Group which is a subsidiary of News Corporation which has its roots in, I believe, Australia. From what I can tell, they have no connection to Time Warner, especially not in the way to make Time Warner the owner of the copyright on the video. Looks like Time Warner owns AOL, New Line Cinema, Time Inc., HBO, Turner Broadcasting System, The CW, UBU Productions, Warner Bros. Entertainment, Cartoon Network, CNN, DC Comics, Mohawk Productions, and more… but, gasp, no Fox News! Therefore, Time Warner would have no rights to bring forth a lawsuit about some video from Fox News being on YouTube! Not to mention, even if I’m wrong and they do own copyright, all they have to do is serve a DMCA and YouTube will automatically yank the video, no lawsuit needed.

Heh, I wouldn’t be surprised if the person who started the email was the same one that uploaded his video and is purposely trying to scare people into watching some big conspiracy just for his YouTube views/ratings.

I know these are small potatoes, but it’s been really bad lately. I’ve been getting tons of emails like this. Of course, I never forward them, I always check them out, and I sometimes respond with proper information. Also recently I’ve received one that said if you are ever being held up at the ATM, enter your pin in backwards and it will call the police (omg!!11!!1!!). Not. True. Apparently some dude tried to pass a law like that but it was deemed non-effective. (Try thinking of your pin backwards when you’re under stress, at gunpoint, or knife point, or whatever. Yeah, can you even remember your pin forwards? Not to mention by the time the cops get there, he’s either gone or you’re dead or both.) And it took me all of 2 seconds to find this out on Google. Then there was the heartwarming story I got about the mother tiger who lost all her baby tigers and was in depression so the zoo found some motherless pigs, put them in baby tiger fur and miraculously, the mother tiger nursed them! That one turned out to be real as far as the photos went, but fake in that it was just some gimic by a Southeast-area Asian zoo! A form of entertainment.

Now I love the people that forward me this stuff. I really do. Most are family. I just wish that they would stop a second and run a search on whatever it is. Any phrase plus “Snopes” will do it! Then if it’s incorrect, don’t pass it on!

Oh, well. I could have griped about this tonight or you could listen to me rant about Craigslist people again who don’t listen and keep emailing us saying, “I’m interested in xxx call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx” when our listing clearly states NOT to do that, that we can tell you anything you need to know via email. (Steve does not have the time to sit and return all these phone calls and start getting in a phone tag game with these people who are probably just going to try and scam him anyway. After all, he’d rather spend his precious few hours between work and/or school or tutoring and bed time with his family, ya know?)

more craigslist gripes about people without manners

Recently I listed a bunch of stuff including re-listing Steve’s expensive tires for sale. I tell you what, I know that craigslist is basically like a classified ads but, dang, people just don’t have any manners. I can’t tell you how many people have tried to get his expensive tires for next to nothing.

One guy even emailed this: “let me know when you drop the price 400.00. no offence.”
I had a good LOL session with that one. Steve’s asking about $700 for nearly-new off-road tires that are worth $800.

He’s had countless people email and try to talk him down, saying they just want the tires and not the wheels. Not only are the wheels not worth much by themselves, but it would be a pain in the butt, from what I understand, to separate the two and these people are trying to talk him down to half price by saying they don’t want the wheels.

Then there was the guy who was apparently surfing craigslist on his phone and emailed via text message on his phone. All he said was something like if you still have the tires call xxx-xxx-xxxx. Steve didn’t have a chance to call so the guy sent it again after two or three days. After about another week I emailed the guy’s phone telling him to go ahead and call Steve at his convenience to which he replied with the same canned message to call him. It’s like, what the heck? Steve finally got a chance to call him the next day and the guy actually wanted to trade an old truck that could never be street-legal for the tires. I mean, dude, if you want to trade that, just say so the first time and we’ll tell you straight up: NO WAY.

And speaking of trading, we’ve listed the tires for sale not for trade yet he keeps getting all sorts of off-the-wall trade requests. One guy wanted to trade a dune buggy for them.

Oh, but yes, I got a response about my SLR that’s still for sale. It’s the same old, “if you still have it, please call me,” response. We all know how much I hate those. The beauty of the internet is that we have a little thing called E-MAIL. There’s a reason I don’t put my phone number on the ads and that we’re trying to use craigslist and not the newspaper classifieds. What could he possibly want to say to me that he can’t say in email? I think I’m just going to reply that I’m sorry but I’m sick right now, can’t we just talk over email? It sounds lame but it’s completely true. I feel like crap, I woke up this morning with another sinus infection and I’ve been throwing up, etc. I most certainly don’t want to talk to anyone. Right now I don’t even feel like dealing with Christmas stuff this week. Bah.

I guess I just get tired of people who can’t seem to read things or be bothered to have common courtesy. I guess they think “there’s no harm in asking” but sheesh, THINK before you ask and at least try to offer something the seller might actually consider, heh.

And here’s another unrelated gripe. ATT/Yahoo keeps emailing me telling me to change my email program to use SSL for downloading and sending mail or I won’t be able to continue to use POP3. They said, “Since multiple email notifications have already been sent out about this, we request that you please make the necessary changes immediately. Remember, you need to make these changes if you want to continue to send/receive email using a mail client.” So I go into my email settings and I’ve already done these changes they want. So why the constant threats!?

And then, I go to email them and say I’ve already done this, so what’s the deal and I get the message that the “email us” support method is no longer available for DSL customers, that I HAVE to chat with them or call them. What the heck!? WHY ever not!???

I’m sorry, I just find it really funny that Obama’s commercial sings that McCain doesn’t know what’s up with gas prices when his own solution is to inflate our tires and get more tune-ups to help with fuel mileage.

I’m just sayin’!

I’m already tired of all the political mud-slinging. For once, I’d like to see a commercial where a candidate says what they stand for instead of attempting to make their opponent look bad. They are ALL “the pot calling the kettle…” Well, I guess there is one Missouri-specific race in which I’ve seen one of the parties do things the proper way, but for the most part, the mud-slinging has begun!

And so have the surveys. I hung up on one the other day, the caller ID said literally 0000000000 and once she started in on me with a political survey (when she sounded like she wasn’t even in this freaking country), I hung up. They then proceeded to call me three more times at all hours of the day until I finally answered and went through the bloody survey.

I’m now waiting for the mailings to begin. Oh, wait, they have. Well, more fuel for the fire.

And now, let the mud-slinging begin on here… ’cause I know it’s bound to come now. Place nice, kiddos.
