The St. Louis Jewel Box

The Jewel Box On Labor Day, after spending some time with Todd and Sharon at the Greek Festival, the rest of us (me, E, my mom, one of my brothers) went over to the Jewel Box in Forest Park, St. Louis, MO.

The Jewel Box is basically a huge greenhouse, but it’s oh, so lovely. It was built in 1936 by the city of St. Louis. According to a myriad of other websites out there, the Jewel Box is made up of 15,000 square feet of glass, the walls are 50 feet high. Anyway, growing up, my wonderful grandma would talk about this place. I think mostly in reference to meeting other ladies there on a weekly basis, I can’t really remember anymore. I always wanted to visit, but never got a chance until I went with the girls in 2005. Since then I’ve now been three times. This last time was the first time I have been in the non-winter, though! Everything was so lovely, so in bloom. Check it out:
