what a day!

It all started with that earthquake. Yup, then there was an aftershock that made me dizzy! Elijah didn’t even notice it, though. I was unable to sleep after the earthquake, so I’ve been up since about 4:30am. I’m surprised I’m still going.

Then it was finish up the graduation party inserts for my sister-in-law, ship a candle order, stop by the bank, get some fuel (for a blasted $3.99 a gallon, nonetheless), then meet said sister-in-law and another one an hour south for lunch.

So, what’s new?

I think I can officially label myself as NOT SICK anymore. I’m still getting the occasional headache and I’m still on the antibiotics, but hopefully by the end of this week things can be back to normal. Still catching up on things though, and that stinks.

Saturday Steve worked again so it was just me and Elijah. We didn’t do much but we did end up leaving the house several times for random things like the post office and grocery store. Funny, I went to the grocery store twice that day but never got any groceries. A friend had called first and asked me to go buy some tickets for the circus that will be here Thursday. She wanted me to get a ticket for her, her two daughters-in-law, the five of her seven grandchildren that are old enough to be charged for, and me and Elijah. Then on Sunday, I had a check waiting for me, including the price of mine & Elijah’s tickets, so that is nice. I realized after getting home that day, too, that the people had undercharged me, so… yeah. But that will be this Thursday, it’s been so long since I’ve been to a circus. Since this is here, I know it can’t be that big but I’m looking forward to it.

Life goes on

So yesterday I didn’t even have to go into the doctor, just talked to him on the phone and he arranged for medication. I’ve got so much crap running through my veins though, we’ll all be lucky if I don’t pull a Heath Ledger. Seriously. I’ve got this one medicine that he actually gave me the last time, a month ago, and he told me to keep taking it. Well last night as I was taking it not long before bed, I realized that it was probably the fourth time that day I had taken it… I’m supposed to take it twice daily. My bad.

So, anyway, what is new these days? I don’t really know. Just being sick, it seems. Yesterday evening, I did go outside for a while with the boys and while Steve BBQ’d, I watched Elijah drive around the yard in his little Jeep. I also spent some time out with them on Sunday while Steve cleaned up the yard (all the winter wood and stuff gathers and makes a mess) and Elijah played, before going out to my in-laws’ and attempting to fix their modem. Being outside really isn’t pleasant for me right now, even if the weather is nice, for obvious reasons, but I suppose I needed it.

So, um, yeah, I started this post like hours ago but got distracted by everything. I need a nap.

A river runs through my basement

I think it’s been raining for about 14 or 15 hours now. They said we’re going to get about 5 inches by Wednesday.

Let me be the first to say:

Ugh.

Quick Rant

I was looking on digg.com a bit ago at some of the articles and comments regarding the recent decision by those arrogant judges in California and I just need to rant for a second before I head to bed.

Leapin’ into March

Mommy & 'Liga So our Leap Day was pretty much uneventful. Had thing in the evening which was pretty fun. Some time with adults, haha. Men against the women and the women, of course, kicked butt.

Saturday morning, though, we all three woke up late and Steve and I both woke up not feeling well. But it was such a nice day outside, so after a couple of hours I suggested we just get out and, if nothing else, just drive around. We grabbed some lunch at the deli in the grocery store but were too hungry to wait to picnic so we just ate as we drove around, haha.

strange schedule

Yesterday (Thursday) was kind of weird. It was Steve’s second to last day of school (YAY!) and he was wiped out and fell asleep early on the couch. I put Elijah to bed around his usual time and proceeded to entertain myself with the internet. Steve woke up around midnight while I was lying on the floor with the laptop, chatting. He did one of those hilarious Richard Nixon shakes with his head and got himself a Mountain Dew.

lunch, an accident, and other stuff

So I’m kinda lame on the whole blogging front these days, hmm?

Scrapbook: 080121 Yesterday I picked up two girls - women now - that I used to have in youth when I did that kind of thing and we headed a bit south and had a lunch. Elijah was along, too, of course, and he took the opportunity to show off for them and was quite a handful. He’s so embarrassing these days, honestly, and let the waitress know just how bad she was by demanding something the few times we actually saw her.

Twice yesterday we had this scenario: E starts doing something, Mommy says “no,” E demonstrates why Mommy says “no.” This included his spilling of the chocolate milk in the restaurant only half a second after I told him not to take his lid off and the spilling of the scrambled eggs that morning after I told him to take them back in the kitchen and eat at the table like he was first told and placed. Boy, the dog was happy with that one. The waitress, not so much.
