good to go

So, apparently, even though I have all this time on my hands, I can’t be bothered to post anything all that often. Of course, all this time on my hands also means that there’s really nothing going on!

Yesterday was my last ultrasound until the day I go into the hospital, which is just over a week away. I am still having periods of pure nervousness, and I really don’t know why. I know I’ll be fine. So, whatever. But, anyway, here is the ultrasound picture. They did a 3D (or 4D or something) for the first time.

You almost have to use your imagination to see this one. The baby is upright, looking right at you, feet sticking up in front of her abdomen. She’s still breech, but I guess that’s to be expected.

And I got me some earrings :)
People keep thinking I’m weird that over the last few weeks I’ve been saying I need some earrings. But here, all I had is danglies any more and I can’t wear those in the hospital and I think that 8 weeks in the hospital plus all this other time with no earrings and they might close up. So I wanted some studs I can sleep in and wear all the time. Finally ended up with four pairs yesterday, some gold and some sterling silver, at great prices. :) So now I’m good to go. I guess, haha.

I’ve also installed this this program on the desktop that allows me to do this remote support thing from the laptop. It’s really awesome, TeamViewer, and is free for personal use. And what I’m doing is very personal. I use it to spy on Elijah, lol. He’s only 5 after all, and, for instance, I just heard him yell from the computer, “MOMMY! Come here!” I said I can’t, and he said, “Then look at the computer and see what I did!” He was freaking out because he expanded a toolbar, haha, he gets so neurotic when something unexpected happens on the computer. But with this program, I can just log in and take care of whatever neurosis he has going on without getting up. It’s saved a lot of heartache running back and forth, which I am not supposed to be doing anyway. The only thing it doesn’t help with is my psycho printer which has been freaking out for people lately. Apparently, it thinks it’s much too good to have a used ink cartridge and demands a new one before the refilled one is empty. I hate that. :P

And I just have to LOL
My phone just rang and it was 4 Wheeler Magazine calling for Steve who is unavailable. Those people crack me up. He subscribed for one year several years ago and then decided not to renew it when the time was up. So for something like the past 2 years, they are still sending him magazines as well as RENEW NOW LAST CHANCE mailings constantly. It’s like, can’t they take the hint he’s not going to send in the money? He doesn’t even have time to look at the magazines they do send along with all the other stuff he gets. I think it’s absolutely hilarious and every time I get a LAST CHANCE mailing I say “Good! Go away!” But they never do. :)

Here are some ultrasound pictures that were given to us Thursday and Friday morning. If you compare them to what we had before, you’ll note the loss of fluid.

The last photo also says breech. Sigh, one thing after another. :)
Steve says breech doesn’t matter, ’cause they say they’ll do C-section anyway. I tell you what… a C-section really scares the crap out of me…

The lady said everything looked really good, which is really nice to hear since last weekend I had what I consider to be a complication. Should be nothing, I hope, though. She said that according to the ultrasound machine, gestational age is a bit younger than we originally thought but not enough to change my due date, so…? Who knows. So yeah, it’s not much to see now, but it’s there! And not twins!

A friend of mine messaged me last Friday out of the blue. She’s typically one who’s hard to keep in touch with and the rest of us give her a hard time because she rarely responds to phone calls, emails, or texts. She said, “Are you guys ok? I had a weird dream and felt I needed to check on you.” So I replied that, yes, we’re fine, and that I was pregnant, yada, yada, yada. She says back that she dreamed I was pregnant! And in a second message: “with twins!” So, the visionary in the group was halfway right, pregnant yes, twins no!

This morning was… interesting.

We were getting ready to leave for the dentist and I called Elijah up from the computer where he was playing Purble Palace, to come and get dressed. He slipped on step 1 of 3 and fell, busting his chin open on the underside. He has a pretty good gash, though I don’t guess it’s good enough for stitches. It’s all bandaged up now and ok but this morning, oh the horror. I hope it heals quickly!

That almost made us late for the dentist, too. But we got there and I filled out the paperwork and we went right back. I had prepped Elijah the best I could (you might remember how he had a bad tooth removed last year and so it’s been a long year getting him back from screaming and yelling when he’s had to go to any kind of doctor) but he still got upset when he saw the light. But once we showed him it was just a light, he really chilled out. It’s crazy, though, that he actually liked this dentist and hated the children’s dentist last year. I think a big part of it is that at this place they let me stay with him whereas the children’s dentist made him go alone and so did the oral surgeon that day. You can imagine how that would really ingrain upon a 4-year-old like it did. So this morning they checked him out and the dentist asked him who had been brushing his teeth (Elijah won’t let me help) and commended him on a job well done, then the hygienist cleaned him all up and when he was all done, he said, “I like that, I like the dentist!” lol, whatever works!

Well, had the 2nd ultrasound tonight. I better understand what they were looking for, too.
Apparently, Elijah had some pee-pee in his kidneys the last time they did an ultrasound. This could mean one of two things. One was there was a kidney blockage. The second was that it just hadn’t moved from the kidneys to the bladder. Since there was no big dark area in his kidneys at this ultrasound, they determined that before it had been the second possibility. So everything is okay, and he will not have to get surgery after birth.
They also gave us a couple more photos. Another one of his face, too! It’s so wierd… well not necessarily weird, but yeah weird, to see his face in there – you usually see those profile pictures!
I have another doctor appointment in two weeks. I think after that one I start going every two weeks. I guess I never mentioned it before in here, but my due date is August 12, lol. I’m going to have to get that stupid blood glucose test soon blah.
