We arrived at Banana Bungalow in Hollywood after a long flight, late at night. After paying up front for a private room for 8 nights we entered the room which smelled overwhelmingly of industrial cleaner. There were no curtains on the windows and the sheets on the bed were full of holes. nAfter opening the windows to get rid of the smell, the room was inundated with the smell of marijuana. We went to complain to the staff who told us it was “just a skunk””. We told them we would discuss it with them in the morning as it was very late and we would not be able to arrange other accommodation that night. nWe discovered the bathroom was also disgusting with slimy taps and smelly towels. We went down before checkout time in the morning to advise that we were not willing to stay there for the rest of the nights and we wanted a refund. They put us on a free tour as the manager wasn’t going to be in until later in the day. nThe “”manager”” processed a refund back onto our card

and when we hadn’t received the funds by the end of our time in Hollywood we went back to see what was happening to be told that no refund had been authorised

that they didn’t give refunds and that we would have to pay for the tour we went on. nAfter standing our ground they agreed to process a refund into our account for the seven nights we didn’t stay there. Since then

although they assure us by email that they will/have processed a refund we have not received anything from them. It has been well over 4 weeks now. They are rude and difficult to get a response from

either by phone or email.”
