I responded to an ad on craigslist about an Airstream for sale. The seller emailed me back and said the Airstream was put into consignment with Direct Autobrokers and included a link which took me to the supposed website. The link had photos and information of the Airstream with very detailed info on the purchase process. I registered my name, address, phone and email with the site but began to be suspicious when they preferred a wire transfer to purchase. Upon investigation, we could not find any info about the company through an internet search, the craigslist ad where I originally saw the Airstream had been flagged for removal and I found an exact word for word email of this scammer on the Ripoff.com website where another person had actually sent them money and never saw the vehicle they purchased.
