My father in law was in Brooklyn last Thursday, on 9/17/09. A dark van stopped near him and a man with a thick Italian accent approached asking for directions to JFK Airport. He was very well dressed, said he was a designer in NY for a fashion show and didn’t know how to get back to the airport. After my father in law gave him directions (in his broken English) the Italian man somehow convinced him to get into his car, drove him to the bank where my father in law took out $2600 (from a teller) and an hour later he had 10 pleather jackets and no idea what had happened to him. During this whole time his wife and daughter were waiting for him in a nearby shop. He was supposed to pick them up, but when he didn’t show up they tried calling him repeatedly with no avail. The call went directly to voicemail as if the reception was blocked in the car. Please understand that this is a grown man, well aware of scams, and yet he cannot explain how this happened to him. If you were to tell him this story about someone else he would never believe it! Please be ware and tell everyone you know. This is an international scammer as there are reports about him from all over the world, and something must be done to stop him.
